What the Klingon set should have been

Since I'm on the subject of wish lists for box sets, here's what I thinkt he Klingon set should have been:

Enterprise:Affliction
Enterprise:Divergence
Star Trek:Errand of Mercy
Star Trek:Day of the Dove
Next Generation: Sins of the Father
Next Generatiion: Reunion
Next Generation: Redemption 1 and 2
Next Generation: Rightful Heir
Deep Space Nine: Blood Oath
Deep Space Nine: Way of the Warrior
Deep Space Nine: Sons of Mogh
Deep Space Nine: Apacolypse Rising
Deep Space Nine: Soldiers of the empire
Deep Space Nine: You are Cordially Invited
Deep Space Nine: Once more unto the Breach

All pretty good choices, though I think you might throw in "Barge of the Dead" from Voyager.

The main thing is, these sets really need some added special features (like on the Captain's Log set) to make them worth the purchase. If you're going to double up on episodes that are all obviously on the season sets, and many on other fan collectives, than throw in a little incentive at least!

Put in DS9's "The House of Quark" (one of the most brilliant Klingon episodes ever!)

Oh, and "Trials and Tribble-ations" instead "Affliction" and "Divergence". "T&T" is far more brilliant with the non-explanation about 'The Forehead Question'.

I'm not a fan of Enterprise to any great degree, but it's strange that the series is so woefully neglected on some of the sets.

Leaving them off of the Klingons set was even worse than not including any of the relevant episodes on the Time Travel set (as I write I'm also wondering how Future's End didn't get on there.....), given that ENT could have contributed Broken Bow, Affliction/Divergence and any other number of episodes featuring the Klingons. The first three there though are quite important to the overall Klingon mythology in Star Trek, hence it's a little mystifying as to why they're absent.

I think the list quoted by the OP is pretty much spot on, however as they only but about 13/14 episodes on the sets it looks a little heavy. Although which I'd take out I have no idea! Also agree that Barge of the Dead would have to be included.

Actually Broken Bow was on the Klingon set. But IMO it's less a Klingon episode and more set up for the cast and crew of the show and the temporal cold war. Afliction and Divergence are much more Klingon centric and I think provided a good explanation for the different Klingons.

You're right, but since this is a dream list that will never see the light of day, why not shoot for the stars? ;)

You could also divide them in half and make a set 1 and set 2. It only makes sense since Klingons have been around since the beginning of Star Trek.

Trials And Tribble-Ations isn't really a Klingon episode. It features Klingons, but it isn't really Klingon-centred.

I stand corrected, but agree that Affliction/Divergence would have been better choices.

Again, tend to agree. Given the number of likely episodes, a double volume set would have made more sense. In fact, with 2 volumes I think we'd be pretty close to being able to include almost all of the pivotal Klingon episodes.

Ditto.
