What Systems do you play, and has this changed?

I've always been a PC gamer, though I can go for months without playing anything. Currently I'm obsessed with SWBF2 online (see my other thread).

Started on Odyssey Pong system. Currently have :
Commodore 64(Hunt for Red October still kicks ass)
Turbo Grafix
Genesis
Dreamcast
N64
PS2
DS
Xbox
Xbox360
and these days I usually play Cod4-ended a 32 game win streak last night.:(

I've owned:

Atari 2600
NES
SNES
Game Boy
N64

Had a little bit of a Nintendo obsession

I don't play anymore.

I got that first Nintendo with Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. My favorite game was Mike Tyson's Punch Out. This was before I knew what rape meant. When I learned about rape (thanks Uncle Jimmy), Zelda became my go to game.

Then I moved on to N64, the Bond Goldeneye game rocked, couldn't stop playing it - I really enjoyed being Oddjob. Only I called him Oddjoy because it was never a job to use that character.

Then I became a Sony guy, getting PS1 and PS2 after that. Hockey on those were just freaking awesome, same with Madden. I also wasted so many brain cells on FF7, that game was awesome on reefer.

I was going to get PS3 but decided on Xbox360. Best choice I've EVER made, apart from getting that lengthening and widening surgery. Call of Duty 4 is unfuckingreal and I'm really liking GTA4. NHL 08 is balls as well.

I've always been and probably will always be a PC gamer to some extent. FPS's belong on the PC. So do RTS's. RPG's can go either way, depending, but are usually better on PC due to extensive mods people make. Which isn't to say I have anything against consoles, I own both a 360 and a Wii and I use them quite often. Well... I use the 360 quite often :p

Well, I own a N64, Dreamcast, Super Nintendo, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, Game Boy Color, Gameboy, 360, PS3 and PC.

The systems I use regularly right now are my 360 and PS3, though my PS3 really only sees use as PS2. I hope to get a Wii sometime in the future. I also occasionally use my PC, but i usually stick with consoles

I alternate. I have a xbox 360, wii, and a PC capable of playing modern games. I have been a bit disappointed with the 360 and how it has functioned. I have already had to send mine in for repairs. The wii is nice but it doesnt have a ton of games.

If all games were available across all platforms, I would consistently choose to go with the PC version.

Systems I own and still play: PC, Wii, N64, SNES, NES

I'm planning on getting a PS2 in the near future, mostly to catch up on FF, but also other games I've heard are pretty good.

Let's see if I can remember my progression... I started with a Commodore 64. Lots of Impossible Mission and Paradroid, good times. Eventually I graduated to a Sega Genesis which set my path as a Sega die-hard for the next several years. Got a Saturn and a Game Gear later on, followed by a Dreamcast not long after launch. I also had a Playstation but was always a Sega guy at heart. After the Dreamcast was abandoned, I found myself with a PS2, which still dominates my gaming time, despite having a 360 at hand.

I've always done a little gaming on computers, but it's always been secondary to the time I spend with consoles. I just don't have the money or patience to go for it seriously, especially since I never really feel the need to play anything out of my performance range.

I used to be a PC gamer and consoles were an abomination to me. About five years ago I practically stopped gaming (I did play KOTOR2 though). But a little over a year ago, I got back into it. I really wanted to play Final Fantasy X and XII so I got a PS2. And then last fall I also got a PS3. So lately I've been gaming quite a bit (for me at least)... that being about an hour a day on average.

I also plan to upgrade my PC soon because there's a couple of PC games I wanna play (including Mass Effect, and I am NOT getting a 360).

I've played and/or owned;

Dragon32
Spectrum 48k+
NES
Gameboy
SNES
N64
Gamecube
A few PCs from the time of my SNES onwards

I'll get a Wii sometime down the line when they're about the £100 mark perhaps if at all.

I'd play mostly GC and PC games, the GC for shooters and Nintendo games of any sort and the PC for any RTSes that take my fancy. I'd still have a bash on the N64 to play Mario Kart and Goldeneye on multiplayer, its a real hoot.

i started with a sega master system, then got a SNES, went off to college and got a N64, graduated from college and got a gamecube, changed jobs and got a ps2, then an xbox, finally picked up a 360.

in the end, i have changed my gaming ways. at first it was sega, they dropped support for the master system and i was bit by that... then it was all nintendo, but i got tired of the droughts and the sequels that came out once a generation and failed to improve the game... then it was all the systems so that i could fairly judge them... now it's 'buy the system that has the games i want.'

Hmmm, well I started out with the Atari 2600, and didn't get another console until I bought a Dreamcast many, many years later. That led to a PS2 and most recently an XBox 360.

I've also played many PC games over the years on various computers. These days I almost never play PC games, though - the Xbox has more than enough heft for me, and since I usually only have a few hours a week for video games anyway, that's all I need.

I had an SNES, Sega Genesis, and N64 when I was a kid. Then I got the idea that consoles were for kids and real gaming was done on the PC, so I did that for a long while. Now I don't have the time or energy for the constant upgrades, the system requirements that may or may not reflect whether the game will work on your system, and going back to the store three times to get a copy that'll install without a problem, all so that the PC can up and die one day with no warning and all that time and effort was for nothing. So I went back to consoles. Got a 360 and a Wii.

It's great being able to buy a game, take it home, and be reasonably sure that it'll work on your system. It's also great to be able to take it back and get a complete refund if you don't like it.

I have owned the following:

Commodore 64
Sega Mega Drive
Sega Master System
PS1
PS2
PS3
PC

Not in that order.... had quite a few PC's over the years... and I used to play online a lot on it on games like Counter Strike and Elite Force online. Loved it! Did anyone else used to play EF online back in the day?

Always using my PS3 nowadays, 2 weeks until Metal Gear Solid 4!!!!!!!!!

I'm PC gamer since the dawn of time (Spectrum). That will not change in the future unless they come up with a superior gaming platform.

I always went to my friends' houses to play NES and SNES as a kid, then got a 64 and later a Gamecube. Over the years I've gotten the PlayStations to play all those cool RPGs, but since last year when I sold just about everything, all I have is a cheap PS2 for DVD playback on my TV. No games left at this point, except of course Escape Velocity on my Mac. :D

When I was a kid I played games on a Commodore 64, an NES, and a PC. Hasn't really changed since then, except my C64 doesn't work anymore and I rarely play games anymore. But I still drag out the NES sometimes and I kinda miss playing Spy Hunter on the Commodore.

When I think about it, those were the days when there was actually a difference between games for consoles and computers. You know, except for the controllers that is.

ZX81 1k eventually upgraded to a huge 16k memory.
ZX Spectrum 16k then 48k
Atari ST
SNES
Sega Mega Drive + Mega CD add on
PC
PS1
PS2
XBox 360

I only play console games now.
