What streaming shows/movie do you want on physical media?

So the most frustrating thing about the streaming era is the outright refusal of companies to allow a physical media release of great shows and movies. It's something I've thought about more often, but with the news that Disney is going to sell a WandaVision Steelbook that's literally just an empty box (no disc) it seemed like a good time to start a discussion about it, or at least see if anyone's interested.

For me, I feel genuinely pained that I don't have the option of buying the following:

WandaVision
Werewolf by Night
Prey
Godzilla Singular Point

Other ones I might've seriously considered if available:

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Stranger Things
American Born Chinese
GotG Holiday Special
Ms. Marvel
The Mandalorian
Troll
Arcane

Anyone else want to join in?

I'm waiting for Dallas Remastered to be put on BluRay (it's available on various streaming services already). Warner has claimed they'll put it on BluRay, but... let's just say I'll believe it when I see it. :shifty:

For All Mankind
The Expanse (seasons 4 to 6)

And importantly available in all regions. Been wanting The Expanse for a few years now - as it not available in Australia.

I'd like WandaVision.

Would also love Midnight Mass but Netflix don't seem keen.

Also on Netflix is the French horror show Marianne

For me, there are some series I want to complete as I'd got part of them.

So, Expanse 4-6 (4 might be available, but unlike 1-3, was region locked?)

Agents of Shield (6-7), Some of the Netflix marvel shows didn't get later season releases either..

Besides that:-
Stranger Things
Obi-Wan
Andor
The Mandalorian
Probably some of the Marvel Disney stuff too.

Streaming can, in the immortal words of Bluto Blutarsky, "kiss my ass from now on."

Max, thankfully, has at least shown a willingness to release its originals on Blu (even if they drag their feet about it), so I just wait 'em out and watch 'em that way. Currently anticipating the final season of Titans and (eventually) the first season of My Adventures with Superman.

Same, but the third season of Stargirl going to DVD only have me angry and very worried for future releases. (Edited to remove mention of Pennyworth.)

There are rumblings that Prey will be getting a disc release in the not too distant future. Fingers crossed.

I had heard that about Stargirl, but not Pennyworth. You're right, it's concerning, but I can't immediately locate an announcement of even a DVD release for Pennyworth's third season in the US. Are you maybe talking about a DVD-only release elsewhere? If so, I wouldn't give up hope of a Blu-ray at some point from Warner Archive (who did the previous US Pennyworth Blus).

I honestly don't know if I saw it mentioned or I just (stupidly) assumed, but I can't find where I thought I saw it either. My apologies!

Yeah, I'm still holding my breath for the fourth season of Doom Patrol. I know it hasn't been that long since it aired, so the fact that it's not out yet isn't weird. But all the vaulting of shows has me nervous whether they'll actually release it.

Definitely this. (My family is tired of hearing me complain about this! ) I’m very grateful that Paramount is more physical release-friendly, so we can continue to get discs for the Star Trek shows. (Although moving the blu-ray of Lower Decks Season 3 to MOD, and all the questions around a physical release of Prodigy, have been disturbing trends.)

Stranger Things

I was able to get seasons 1 and 2 of this… apparently they did a limited retailer-exclusive release in the US (I want to say Target, but I’m not sure) that I was able to get through a reseller. Would be nice to get subsequent seasons, though.

For All Mankind

If you can afford it, going multi-region allows you to pick up releases from other countries for shows that didn’t get a release in North America. I recently got the UK release of seasons 1 and 2 by Dazzler Media. I hope they can also release season 3 soon!

the third season of Stargirl going to DVD only

Not familiar with Stargirl, but this is another disturbing trend. I got the first three seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale in blu-ray, then starting with season 4, they switched to DVD only (and everywhere, not just North America).

Yes, it was Target that had the exclusive Stranger Things releases here in the US. I liked them for the packaging as much as anything. (For those not familiar, each season came in a case that looked like the old plastic clamshell cases VHS tapes would come in when you rented them from Blockbuster and similar places.)

For me, the first one I noticed was The Last Ship (at least in my region). Think they did the first two in Blu, then DVD only.

As for Stargirl, it seems to be season one and done here unless you stream (or have a multi region drive)

Fargo was my first personal run-in with the DVD-only thing. But I'd been aware of it before that. Just looming out there...waiting to descend. :(

Generally speaking I'd like to see just about everything get a physical media release, but especially movies.

They tried it with the second season of Black Lightning. The first season got a then-standard DVD/Blu-ray release through Warner Home Video. But the second season was initially released on DVD only, and through Warner Archive instead of the main WHV division. (All the other CW DC shows continued to get WHV Blu-ray releases.) I and others (including Black Lightning's co-creator, Tony Isabella) posted complaints about the show's treatment on the Warner Archive store site, and eventually a Blu-ray of season two was released, simultaneously with season three.

Cobra Kai is only available on DVD in region 1, though I believe the German and Australian releases are region free.

Malcom in the Middle isn't available in region 1 for either blu ray or dvd (except for season 1). There is a DVD region 2 version of the whole series, though.
