Not that it can be seen on the map, but, although I could see San Mario, I didn't go inside, so there's a white pixel in Italy ;)
Do not nix the Most Serene Republic of San Marino! :klingon:

good ol' wiki said:
San Marino is the oldest surviving sovereign state and constitutional republic in the world, as the continuation of the monastic community founded on 3 September 301, by stonecutter Marinus of Arbe.

The constitution of San Marino, enacted in 1600, is the world's oldest constitution still in effect. It is one of the wealthiest countries in the world in terms of GDP (per capita). San Marino is considered to have a highly stable economy, with the lowest unemployment rate in Europe, no national debt and a budget surplus.
:techman:

I also lived on a U.S. Air Force base in Italy for three years, but I figured that didn't count. Plus it'd be silly to put up a map with just one country highlighted. :p
Not if that one country is Italy.

Wait, what? Did you never leave the base to check out the surrounding towns/cities or go to the beach at least?

Here are my images.

So apparently, the rumors that there is a world outside Ile-de-France (Paris and suburb region) are true :shifty:
Nope. We all live in Montmartre but we are trying to fuck with your mind. :p

And I thought Montmartre was crowded with silly tourists ;)

More seriously, I don't travel a lot because if I do, I would have to do it alone and I don't think it's very safe. And also because you're all weird :shifty:

I was in Pesaro and Rimini, I think that's close enough. Going to San Marino just means climbing a mountain. Plus, I'd probably need my passport or something. I'm sure it's not worth it.

There are no passport controls, but to be honest, except for getting the "country point" or buying tax free cigarettes, there's not a hell of a lot to do there imo (but I only spent half an afternoon there also, so maybe I totally missed everything interesting). ;)

There are no frontier formalities between Italy an San Marino: anyone visiting Italy with a visa can enter freely. As for being not worth it... well, I can't agree. :D

As with other gorgeous places, the point is not about doing something, it's about being there. :p And if you are a sword enthusiast (I am), San Marino is a candy shop: gorgeous replicas of Medieval and Renaissance swords, not to mention the world-famous crossbows.

Alright, next time I'm back there, I'll make a point to stop by and look at some cool swords. Then I'm going to a nightclub at Rimini.

Of course, I first need money and time to actually travel ;)

Here are my state and province maps. Just added North Carolina and Tennessee after vacationing there last week. 36 states down, and I'm only 30, so I suspect I'll be able to clinch the whole US in the next 5-10 years. Finding an excuse to go to North Dakota may be interesting though...

That is incredible.

Unless you count Epcot's World Showcase (), the only time I've been out of the country is a cruise to Nassau. And I don't really count that since US tourism is pretty much the city's entire purpose.

*Note: West Virginia was involuntary.
Did it involve a large building with doors that locked from the outside?

Four of the countries on my maps are there because I lived on various US Air Force Bases as a child, I was born on one in Germany.
