Address the general lack of interest in space exploration. It's almost 40 years since we first landed on the moon but no moon base, no mission to Mars, no space station with artifical gravity, etc, etc.

Well, artificial gravity is going to be a long time coming if at all.
It's sad that there's not a lot of interest in space exploration -- but, ya know, we're facing a food crisis right now here on Earth. We've never had an adequate system in place for feeding everyone in the first place -- how many thousands of children die every year from hunger and poverty? -- and now, suddenly it's getting worse, food prices are souring, and even the people who we had been able to feed are starting to go hungry. To say nothing of the fact that in the richest country in the world, there are huge numbers of poor, of food insecure, of class discrimination, and of homelessness.
As much as the space program is a true inspiration for us -- maybe we need to concentrate our resources on getting such basic things down as "Everyone has enough to eat" before we start worrying about how to feed colonies on Mars.
I totally agree! Hubba hubba!I think the movie should address the VERY important issue of there being TOO many scantily clad/tight fitting female outfits in sci-fi movies and not enough eye candy for us female fans (and gay males). To this end, I hope the movie will give us some reason to see Quinto shirtless.Pine seems to be pretty good looking too though, so at the very least we'll probably get to see his shirt torn during a fight scene as homage to those old TOS episodes where it happened rather often to Shatner. I'm still holding out hope for Quinto-as-Spock shirtless scene though!
Anyway, this is by FAR the most important issue, and I hope Star Trek XI will deliver.
