What should the uniforms look like

I'd go with something vaguely Underarmor-ish. Basically, the desert unis from enterprise. You can get your basic TOS look, while still being practical, comfortable, and purposeful.

Don't know if this has been asked, but what style do you think they will make the uniforms, will it be jumpsuits or something along the lines from Tos but better looking and fitting or could it be like the style from the wrath of khan more military

This depends on when the movie takes place.

If it's during the Academy years (and I don't see how we can see Kirk at the Academy AND Chekov), the uniforms could be anything and not violate what we've seen.

If it's pre-WNMHGB, again, it's open.

If it's between WNM... and the series, it'd have to be one or the other. Not much room there for a third variation on the uniform.

If the movie takes place during the same period we know as TOS, then it HAS TO use the original uniform style.
Of course, all of this is assuming (very likely incorrectly) that the entire film is set in a single timeframe and single setting.

There's nothing we know (even if you're gullible enough to accept the AICN report as though it's reliable) that implies that we're seeing a movie set in "linear time" in the sense that most folks seem to be assuming.

Okay, we have it confirmed that we'll see Uhura and Chekov, which implies (but does not CONFIRM) that we'll be seeing SOMETHING happening during the "5-year-mission." Or in some VERSION of that (if you assume that the time-travel gig AICN has claimed is legit, I mean).

Who's to say that we'll see more than 5 minutes worth of screen time of these "newly recast" versions of the characters? Yeah, I know Dennis and a few others seem quite convinced. I remain skeptical. I don't believe the AICN bit at all. I'd be more inclined to believe the National Enquirer... it's more accurate, in my experience!

(I remember the AICN report on the script for the first Star Wars prequel... am I the only one who read that and then saw a movie totally unrelated to that supposedly "reliable source" script later on?)

Your experience would be...decidedly unusual in that regard.

Nice, RAMA! I think that's the basic concept for the uniform scheme I've always imagined the TOS uniforms falling into... the almost unseen jackets, the short sleeve variant, etc. Cleaned up and 'Trekified' a bit and those would be spiffy.
