What should change about the possible new Star Trek Experience?

I haven't heard anymoe but it would be pretty funny if that happened. In a sad twisted kind of way that is.

The latest story comes from KVBC in Vegas. They had an interview with the architects responsible for remodelling Neonopolis to house STTE-A. One friend said this looks like things are moving forward. Another said it seemed like the same old, same old.

Just gotta wait...

^It's so frustrating. I want to plan a trip to Vegas before I move overseas again but at this rate I'll have gone and be back again before anything is done.

Well, it is nice to see this moving forward. I'm new enough to Star Trek not to have gotten to know the old Experience, but dedicated enough now to definitely consider making the trip down there whenever it opens. I've never appreciated the gambling scene and never desired to visit Las Vegas, but this will give me a reason to change that policy at least once.

As a life long fan of star trek I took the oppertunity to visit ST:TE on my honeymoon in June 08. My now wife and I still talk to this day about how much we loved ST:TE. Quarks (from what we remember, we did drink the whole cocktail list), the shops the rides, the museums etc were loved by us so much we went back the next day, and vowed to return again one day. After hearing of the closure and the re-opening in neonopolis we have both chatted about what we would like to see.
The first this is make the new attraction neutral. The classic was heavily focused toward TNG DS9 and VOY - not a complaint at all, but there was little in the way of TOS or TAS. So i would like to see a focus on the whole trek universe. Please bring back Quarks and make it BIGGER!! How a about a K7 Cafe? and a Ten-Forward Bar too? Bring back the rides and a new TOS era ride (Mutara Nebula Battle, or Balance of Terror Battle?). I do hope that its not too heavy on the new movie. Sure good movie but I dont want to go to ST:TE-A and too find it looks like the Apple iStore or JJ Abrams bathroom.
I will have the Pipus Claw with a side of the Holy Rings of Batazed and a Ice Tea Kirk please Quark.
Any firm ideas on a re-opening date?

its a shame CBS sold off the gear. real shame about the fate of the enterprise d.
making ST:TE-A is a huge task. Millions of fans to keep happy and millions of potential new fans to make happy and millions of dollors to make. tough job to please everyone. Its safe to say the new one will feature the new movie in a big way, but lets persuade them not to forget TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT and movies 1-10. Afte looking through this thread we all seem to agree to bring back Quarks! I hope the designers and project leaders read these post and listen to us all.

Also, wanted to throw out that I heard on the latest Trekcast podcast that Joshi's rights to the experience will expire in September 2010 if nothing has been done yet. Maybe there would actually be some hope to get STTE-A off the ground without that clown involved.

If it's true that Joshi's rights to the material are expiring, that might also change where STTE-A will be built as Joshi is responsible for everything Neonopolis. It would be great if a deal could be worked out with another hotel (Planet Hollywood or the Stratosphere seem like naturals). And I suppose the giant vacant hole at the Hilton could use a new attraction but then we'd run into the same issues (off-Strip, indifferent hotel management, etc.) which caused the original's demise in the first place.

Wish I could make it out for the auction. Waah!

I just found out about this today. If I had known earlier I may have actually driven out to see what I could pick up.

I would have gone had I known. Anyone go? Have any pics? How did it all look?

Biggshow, thank you so much for this. Its oddly somewhat comforting to know just how much was salvaged. Feels like its still alive a little.
Last year's LV convention was fine and all, but it was a bit like a wake "after" a funeral. I guess Creation will probably have a lot of stuff

A friend of mine has just come back from a trip to vegas, he said he spoke to a member of the neonopolis staff and they said the experience is NOT opening there. But CBS have nearly finished negotiations about opening ST:TE at a new location, this time in a strip side casino.
i wonder where? my first choices would be on the city center complex or one of the new places opening north strip near circus circus.

Haven't heard but it wouldn't surprise me. I'll see if there's any word from my Vegas sources. I always thought Planet Hollywood was a natural.
