the Galaxy class showed its phaser power vs some Cardassian keldon/Galor class ships.
blasted them good & proper.
That was a case of writers fiat, later Cardassian ships were more powerful.

they did a good job blasting the Jem'hadar and the Breen

pfft the Klingons stomped all over the Cardassians!
the Cardassians have trouble controlling their bowels at the mere mention of a Klingon battlecruiser.

but the klingons did win the war- & that is all that matters.
long live the Glorious Klingon Empire
And going back to the OT, I would also go for a Romulan Warbird.
As I understand it, Titanic's engineers never made the claim that the ship was unsinkable. It was WSL's idiot marketing department. And then the president started to believe the hype. The Titanic was also supposed to be the strongest of the fleet for the White Star line company too if I remember correctly.![]()
I've seen those thread asking you to pick your crew, there's one running currently, but what about the ship? If given the chance to pick a ship from the Star Trek universe that would become yours, which ship would you choose? It could be any ship from any of the movies, TV shows and even alien cultures. Also, where would you want to start out at, the alpha quadrant? How about the delta quadrant?
My choice would be the alien design for the USS Dauntless. I would choose it because I like the design, and I also like the particle synthesis and quantum slipstream drvie technology. I think it would try my hand at exploring the delta quadrant.
