What ship would you choose?

It depends what the question implies.
Did you mean a ship that is mine (read: I'm the captain) with a full crew? Then it would be probably a Sovereign class or an Akira Class, nice and comfy. A Prometheus Class would be fun too!
Did you mean a ship that is just for me, and thus that I should be able to manage alone (with just the help of the computer), than a nice customized Defiant Class, with an holodeck and some leisure space added instead of some of the crew quarters. If that is too expensive :p, I'll go for a nice Danube Class runabout: those things are awesome if well configured, I can see them as space salon, more or less a good Audi A8 equivalent ;)

I'd kill for a Negh'var battlecruiser though... but let's stay into the Federation and stay pratical. Yeah, right! :D

I'd pick the Enterprise E. IMO, it's the best looking ship ever designed for Trek.

So no one is picking the Grissom?? I mean, who doesn't want to take a transporter to get from the saucer section to the rest of the ship? LOL

I was always left with the impression the Galaxy Class ships were flawed and weak in combat.

Why would the Borg lie?

"Captain Jean-Luc Picard, you lead
the strongest ship of the
Federation Starfleet. You speak
for your people."

-BOBW Part I

The Ent-D always aquitted itself in well in combat. Those K'vort class BOP in Yesterday's Enterprise were huge and had a 3:1 advantage. Also Riker boasts of the recent "pasting" the Klingons recieved at Archer IV. The only firefight I will not accept is one in Rascals. That was complete crap.

The Galaxies were kicking serious ass in the Dominion war.

I should have been a bit more clear, sorry. You would have a full crew complement to command and go where you'd want to.

well I've always loved the Klingon BoP- but I'd want the one that can fire cloaked. I'm sure I could find out a way to avoid gas-seeking torpedos.

Then I'd stay away from the beans. :guffaw:

Sorry, couldn't resist.

i have to go with a romulan war bird. its in my opinion the best looking ship in the trek universe and it was powerful with cloaking ability.

if i have to choose a federation ship, it would be the defiant or the excellsiar (cant spell!)

I'd fly around the Alpha Quadrant in one of these bad boys:

keldon-class.jpg

Keldon-class I believe. The main body is that of a Galor-class, but I might be completly wrong. I'm starving and my brain is calling it a quit as long as I don't eat something :p

Update: it appears I could be really right.

Oh! why didn't you say so? I would still pick the ships I picked earlyer, small crew means fewer lives I have to worry about. Than again if I could get a great interior decorater to make the inside look ''CLEANER'', I'd want the NARADA! now that thing looks like it can strike fear in to the hearts of it's enemies! BWA,HA,HA!

Ambassador class or ORIGINAL Constitution Class. Crewed ONLY by women with myself as Captain. If your going to dream, DREAM BIG!!

The Titanic was also supposed to be the strongest of the fleet for the White Star line company too if I remember correctly. :)

Don't remember Rascals but what was wrong with that episode ?

I don't have any memory of the Galaxy kicking tail. To me its a ship designed to explore and carry alot of civilians/family. I just can't see a design of that type being a badasss in combat.

As for the Dominion war what examples do you know that would validate it kicking butt ? All I know of is the few seconds of screen time on TV during DS9.

the Galaxy class showed its phaser power vs some Cardassian keldon/Galor class ships.

blasted them good & proper.
