What Sequel Would You Like To See?

Revenge of the Old Queen, the long-awaited third film in the Rocky Horror series.

Sigh. If only.

The Exorcist, Part V...starring an older Linda Blair as Regan MacNeil, 35 years after her possession by the demon Pazuzu!

It would definitely take into account events from all the other Exorcist sequels and prequels, and it would pick up on the whole notion of people with psychic healing gifts being targeted for destruction by Pazuzu (as we saw in Exorcist II: The Heretic back in '77). And Pazuzu's main instrument of death and destruction once again is...the undead spirit of serial killer James Venamun, a.k.a. "The Gemini" (from The Exorcist III: Legion)!

Think of it as more of a horror-movie version of Heroes...with the Gemini Killer in the Sylar role!

Intriguingly enough, some other guy came up with an idea for an Exorcist sequel, titled The Exorcist: Synchronized (also involving the character of Regan), and its tagline was: "This time...she's the Exorcist!" The idea was somewhat interesting...and I kind of liked the idea of Father Morning (Nicol Williamson) having survived his ordeal in Legion (1990) and being still alive and kicking (albeit confined to a wheelchair and with half his face ripped off!).

My other two big sequel ideas:
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine...The Movie!
Tango & Cash, Part II (w / Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell)

Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Michael Clarke Duncan, Steve Buscemi, Peter Stormare and Billy Bob Thornton in a franchise of Armageddon movies.

The first one was an asteroid, the second one can be a comet, the third one can be the son of the first asteroid out for revenge, the fourth one can be an asteroid that phases in and out of our space time continuum, the fifth one can be a haunted asteroid with the ghost of Bruce Willis, the sixth one can be an asteroid from the future, the seventh one can be Kryptonian, the eighth one can be Haley's Comet... the possibilities are endless!

There will not enough explosives in the world to sustain this many sequels if Michael Bay is to direct them all.

Spent a long time mulling over this. When I like sequels, they're often either essential (as in the case of the LOTR films) or just well made and building on what came before (as in the case of The Godfather Part II). But it's pretty hard to think of films I think should have sequels which, well, don't have any.

But then it finally hit me. Ivan the Terrible Part III. I really wish Sergei Eisenstein had got the chance to complete his Ivan the Terrible trilogy. There's a sequel I would have liked to see. :)

Underworld: Apocalypse

I can't tell if you're being facetious or not but they actually are making another Underworld movie called Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. It's a prequel, taking place during the beginning of Lucian's rebellion against the vampires in the early 13th century. I'm a big proponent of the prequel idea simply because nearly all of the series' good characters were killed off in the 1st 2 movies. This way, they're able to bring back most of them, including Lucian, Viktor, Kraven, Tanis, & Raze. You can read the latest updates on it @ http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/film/1217 .

I might literally be willing to kill people if it meant that we'd get another Daredevil movie with Ben Affleck, Michael Clarke Duncan, Joe Pantoliano, & Jon Favreau. That "Born Again" storyline sounds perfect.

When I was a kid, I really wanted there to be a Super Mario Bros. sequel with Bob Hoskins & John Leguizamo.

I'd like to see a sequel to Sahara based on another of Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt novels. That movie was fun.

Pirates of the Caribbean IV: The Scourge of the Spanish Main starring Johnny Depp, Geoffry Rush, Keira Knightley, with Angelina Jolie, and Antonio Banderas as Ponce deLeon. Jack Sparrow & Captain Barbosa find themselves in a race to find the Fountain of Youth. On the way, Jack runs into a newly pregnant Elizabeth Turner as well as a new love interest-- Angelina Jolie as basically a female version of Jack. Jack & Jolie form a tentative partnership against Barbosa while simultaneously trying to screw each other (literally AND figuratively).

Eldest - I liked the first one with the exception of the actor who played the main character. I have not read the books but still would like to see the movies continued.

With the exception of the first few minutes of the movie they totally ruined Eragon. The book was far better. I'd rather see them remake Eragon and get it right than see Eldest.

Correction: Not me, should be attributed to PK95, post #8

I've never seen the Eragorn movie.

I think all sequels should be taken under great consideration for an example who is the guy that said OK to making the 2nd OPEN WATER I can't for the life of me believe they made the first one. Cheap movie to make don't get me wrong two people, two rafts, and lots of water for 2 friggin hours.
Who in their right mind thought we might need another two hours of head bobbing, if we want head bobbing we'll watch porn.

Here are mine...a few have already been mentioned:

-Daredevil 2
-Men in Black 3
-Sky High (I liked the first movie as well when I saw it)
-X-Men 4 (Loving the Sinister idea as he has always been one of my favourite X-Men villans and could be a lead up to Apocolypse in X-Men 5)

-Spider-Man 4 (using the Vulture)
-The Incredibles 2
-Super Mario Bros...aren't we getting another movie anyways? I thought that I read somewhere that Nintendo was in discussion with a studio to bring this back? The first one was left with a cliffhanger afterall...need to resolve it.

-The Restraunt at the End of the Universe (loved the first Hitchhiker's movie, too bad it didn't make enough money to warrant a second movie)

Ferris Bueller's Laid Off: Ferris' luck has run out; he's turning 40, he's lost his job, and this time it's up to his best friend Cameron (now a junior senator from Illinois) to show him how to enjoy life.

X-Men seems like one of the few comic books where you could almost never run out of stories from the comics to adapt that are suitably "large" enough to warrant a movie. Why they aren't immediately developing X-Men 4 right now is beyond me.

The Scorpion King II but it has to star The Rock or else what's the point?

Vin Diesel & Karl Urban in Riddick III: 'Till Underverse Comes.

Another Highlander sequel that completely ignores that piece of shite Highlander: The Source.

Cowboy Bebop II.

Night Watch III (a.k.a. Dusk Watch)
with the original Russian cast.

El Mariachi IV
with either Antonio Banderas or Carlos Gallardo as the lead.

Sky High (this film was a lot of fun to watch with my daughter)
Sahara (also a great, fun film; rare for an action film that didn't belittle the sidekick)
Master and Commander
Saved! (I know it's a niche film, but I really enjoyed it and would like to see how things went on for the characters)

I'd like to see another X-Men film that deals with Genosha and possibly a mixture of the "Days of Future Past" storyline and the Sentinels. I'd like to see Emma Frost take over the school. I think we could safely remove Storm and Wolverine from this one, since they pretty much dominated the first three. Perhaps it could be Xavier's School re-opening, for a new term, a la Astonishing X-Men. I would like to see a subplot involving Alex Summers searching for his lost brother. Maybe even reveal that Cyclops didn't die. With Wolverine, Storm, Jean and Xavier out of the way, you can provide meatier roles for supporting, secondary characters like Iceman, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and so forth. Perhaps even deal with Rogue's fallout by taking the cure, and so on and so forth.

Another Daredevil movie is probably likely somewhere down the line, but I see that as a reboot rather than an outright sequel a la The Incredible Hulk. Honestly, I wasn't that big of a fan of the first movie starring Ben Affleck and I would love to see a reinterpretation with a talented director giving the character a fresh new outlook.

I definitely want to see another Bryan Singer-helmed Superman movie. I think that is on the near horizon.

Master and Commander

There was mild talk about a sequel to that film, which I would love to see. The first one was fantastic and I'd love to see Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany return, even though I suspect it is unlikely.

Also, I would absolutely love to see another Hannibal Lecter movie, this time starring Anthony Hopkins. I thought Red Dragon was a mediocre way to see Hopkins' Lecter last, and the less said about Hannibal Rising, the better. I would die if there could be a reteam of Hopkins & Jodie Foster.

I wouldn't mind another X-men sequel to meet Jubilee and Gambit. I was so very disappointed we didn't get to see them in the three movies we got.

^I'm the opposite. They have got to be my two all-time most hated X-Men characters and I was very pleased we didn't see them. I hope we never see them!
