What scifi captain/colonel/flag officer for president.

Mackenzie Calhoun. a guy who sentenced hostage-takers to death by photon torpedo barrage and can punch faster than people can see.

Admiral Adama is a strong leader and would be one of my first choices for military dictator but I don't think he has enough of a non-military mind to cope with the non-military aspects of the job.

Captain Kirk is often my role model but commanding a starship is his first, best destiny. Anything else is a waste of material.

I'd go with GENERAL HAMMOND from "Stargate SG-1." He simply had a good, wise head on his shoulders. He never let anyone put anything over on him. He never sent a team into a trap without everyone fully acknowledging that it was probably a trap. He took calculated risks very well.

Hammond would be good. Heck, so would O'Neil.

Here's a "out of left field" one: Gil Gerrard's Buck Rogers. Equal parts charming diplomat and two fisted fighter depending on need, but ALWAYS a good and decent man.

His monologue in "Cry of the Hawk" before the Galactic High Court is one of the most overlooked dramatic performences in history...

I think a "General Martok for President" campaign would be the most amusing political campaign ever, but I don't think he could win.

Will Riker on the other hand, probably could.

He'd challenge his opponent to a duel the Klingon way and be done with it. Somehow i doubt that our current politicians could stand in such a "debate"

My pick would either be Sheridan (sneaky political bastard and brilliant tactician and strategist) or Adama because both are able to do the hard choices and especially make the right choices no matter how unpopular they may be.

Jim Kirk would never make it. He gets bored behind a desk. Maybe commanding a starship was Bill Clinton's first, best destiny too?

John Sheridan was an egocentric blowhard.

Buck Rogers would never get through the primary because people would tease him for his fabulous wardrobe.

Hammond would be a good choice, but he is old so that might be a problem for his campaign, especially if he picks a youngin' like Sam Carter as his running mate.

No, the choice to go with would be Bill Adama. He may be steeped in military life and tradition, but he has also demonstrated time and again he can step outside of a situation and do the right thing when need be. Wherein his non-military expertise is limited, I'd suggest his son, Lee Adama to be his running mate to make up for that.

Dirk Anger for President.

'Nuff said.

Although if we get John McCain, well, we might get the same thing.

I'm changing my vote to Cable.

Bill Adama and Laura Roslin have the greatest leadership abilities I've seen so far.

But when he gets up to speed, I think Sylar might really surprise us all...he seems like the kind of patient, deep thinker that often turns out to be very effective (and dangerous to cross). He simply needs to address certain mental health issues that have been inhibiting his full potential.

I've been impressed by Woolsey on SG:A. He's really come a long way from the weasly bureaucrat. He's smart and knows when to take real risks.

Luke Skywalker.

What? He was a General of the Rebel Alliance/New Republic before he officially quit to restart the Jedi Order. :p

Han Solo. If he can be promoted from smuggler to general while frozen in carbonite, think of what he can do as president!

I dunno, his criminal past, former Imperial service, and ties to notorious gangster Jabba the Hutt could sabotage his candidacy.
