What real 21st century tech is better than 24th century Trek Tech?

I think some of the limits we see on tech is artificial. People found smart phones intoxicating…so communicators are audio only. That keeps your eyes up and on task.

Encryption technology probably is way better in the real world. It seems in the Star Trek universe, any encryption or security can be hacked in minutes if Our Heroes really set their mind to it.

Quite why is interesting - computers are never truly random. Perhaps something about the positronic brain allows more flexibility than a ship's computer when creating codes? But then Data admitted his eye-blinking pattern wasn't truly random but based on a series, which allowed him to spot that Juliana Tainer was using the same system. Of course, Soong may simply not have wanted to apply true randomness (with all the computational time it would use) to something like blinking if the simpler algorithm was suitable (as Riker said, no-one but Data would realise the difference).
But since no human was good enough to figure out Juliana Tainer was a Soong-Type android, it must've been good enough to fool the vast majority of humans around her.
Obviously, it wasn't good enough to fool Data. The effort needed to fool Data must be much higher.
I wouldn't be surprised if one of the background processes in Data's Positronic brain was creating a time log of when each person he encounters blinks, & analyzing the randomness of each persons blinking.

Data may have analysed human blinking patterns to further his ability to be human. Julianna did not fit the previous data, so he determined it was actually a pattern.
Trek has a built-in explanation for the level of tech. WWIII. So some things can be lower tech than we have now and make sense.
But today our computers make most Trek computer interfaces seem obsolete. Though their storage, processing power, and AI is far superior. Trek has lots of tech that is way beyond what we have now. But touch interfaces today are well beyond what most Trek series envisioned. I think we are poised to make some major jumps that will put us way beyond Trek. But to be blunt, with the Eugenics war and WWIII, the Trek world is a different universe from our own. They already had the Eugenics war. They had 6 Voyager probes instead of just 2. So it is built into Trek that is runs parallel to us, not in our future. It is a future to strive toward culturally, but I think in many ways we are going to be able to live in a very similar level of technology very soon. Definitely by the end of the century, barring any catastrophes. We have a long way to go for transporter, replicator, warp, shields, etc. tech, but the rest of it we can achieve very soon. Some of it is here now.

Nope. He explicitly says the blinking algorithm (based on the mathematical Fourier system) is something Soong designed into him and thus he was able to recognize the same pattern in Juliana, as it can only give "the appearance of randomness". Not simply that her blinking isn't random, but that it is using the same "random" number series.
