What no Arkham City Thread?

PC gamers' lament... I played Arkham Asylum for PC (I don't have 360 or PS3... just a Wii) and it ran smooth as butter. But, I just found out my CPU isn't even close to the minimums for Arkham City, and my GPU is now the bare minimum. So... do I spend $1,000 USD for a new gaming rig, or get a used PS3 to play this. Decisions, decisions.

i'm fed up with the fuse box thing! apparently your supposed to use your remote batarang to trip it and i spent an hour tossing them and the fuse box won't trip!!! the the heck am i doing wrong?!?!

You have to fly the batarang through an electrical charge first. The charged batarang then powers the fuse box.

Yeah I spend an hour swearing at the game till I got that right.

Just finished the main story. I was a little let down by the ending. Less for what happened than by how they carried it off. Anyway, I'm still only at like 57% so here's hoping it gets fleshed out a little bit during the course of finding the rest of the stuff.

Was it on mute with the subtitles turned off? Batman tells you what to do!

Plus enemies can surender now and you get to interrogate them.

I spend a lot of time roaming around using detective vision to locate the green thugs. Unfortunately more than once I've gotten a little carried away and have knocked them out before getting to interrogate them.

If you can't get to it (Riddler Trophies)you can mark in on your map.
For those who haven't gotten this far yet, just to clarify, you don't get the ability to tag Ridder Trophies until the Steel Mill mission. (At least that's when it happened for me.)

Which is good, because my dumb ass needed him to spell it out for me

Well I knew what to do (Ok, I cheated and looked at a guide) but I just have a hellava time flying that damned RC batarang. So I spend a lot of time swearing at the game too.

I went into the Control Options and reversed the controls for the batarang, so that up is up and down is down (instead of the opposite which is the default). I also learned that L1 (the brake) is your best friend when flying the batarang. It slows everything down.

Yeah I threw about three of them into my feet before I went and changed that. Really makes it a whole lot easier, but like most control schemes for video games, YMMV.

I've not played Arkham City yet, but I borrowed Arkham Asylum from a friend to play through it and will likely borrow City next. I've got to say, they seem to be really well made games with great voice acting (a given, given the use of the voice-actors from the animated series). I like the idea of Asylum having a bit more of that free-range/open endedness.

Also the PC version isn't coming out until November 15th. The wait is killing me, the game is just sitting there in my steam game list mocking me.

I tried it both ways and i suck equally either way. But you're right about L1, it helps a LOT.

I got that, but how do I get to the fuse box? The charged batarang just hits the gate. Is there an alternate path or am I hitting the wrong thing?

Um...I'd have to see it again to be able to tell you. I'm pretty sure there should just be a hole in the gate that you can fly through.

I'll take a 2nd look. I only messed around for a few minutes. I am on the big boss fight for that area.

thanks for the advice, however i couldn't access the site when i got back after work and spent a half hour before i figured it out. needless to say, some colourful language was used at the realisation of how simple it turned out to be.

and TheBoo, the only advice i can give you for that is to slow the batarang down while going through the holes in the gate.

I'm not sure which fuse box you're referring to, if it's the one in the museum "gladiator pit" this is how I went about it. There was no way in hell could I fly a batarang through the slots in the actual gate. But as you're facing the three gates, the one with the fusebox is in the middle. I don't recall how I did this but I managed to get the left most gate open. So that gave me access to the back room all the way around behind and to the left of the fusebox room.

I flew the batarang through the electicity in the pit, performed the U-turn maneuver, flew out of the pit through the now open leftmost gate into the back room I just mentioned. In the back room there are barred windows but the window to the right has enough of an opening at the top to get the batarang through. So I flew there and hit the fusebox. But apparently you have to hit it just so-so, because it took several tries to hit right.

So, how about that Stolen Identity Killer sidequest?
Hush! Did not see it coming, though I probably should have. Looks like we have some sequel bait!
