Upon having just watched this film, I must say that this new action film succeeded where Nemesis failed so badly, in more ways than one:
1) Badass bald dude of Romulan affiliation with an unsympathetic desire for revenge (brief mentions only).
2) Badass superweapon and huge ship.
3) Enemy ship gets rammed and damaged quite a bit by a good guy ship.
4) Climactic confrontation between hero and villain occurs on the villain's ship.
5) Enemy ship gets destroyed not by conventional firepower, but by something related to the badass superweapon.
I wonder how JJ Abrams must have felt like watching Nemesis, despite his public statements saying he never watched it. How did he learn anything at all from that film?
