What media gifts did you get this Christmas? (Your best two, or best one)

Rowdy Roddy McDowall

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
In my case, I was quite pleased to receive Seasons Four and Six of THE HANDMAID'S TALE, plus the fourth of four WALKING DEAD comic mega-omnibuses......giving me complete collections of each epic series. How about the rest of you?

Titles, please?
A couple of Spiderman comics, a Captain America and one I never heard of titled 'dial H for hero'. From Wiki:

A new feature of this series was that the readers could submit new hero and villain characters, which were then used in the stories. The submitters were given credit for their creations in the story (and a T-shirt with the series logo), but the characters became DC Comics' property.

I hoped that one might spark some creativity in him.

Good luck. Paralleling that, I've lately been vendoring vintage comics, movies and historical magazines, which leads to a variety of customer conversations. Three months ago a teacher asked me what I had that day which might get disaffected teens to read. So I sold him four issues of Marvel's WHAT THE?!? (If they're familiar with Wolverine and the like, he's spoofed just about every issue.)

My favorite superhero spoof is 'The Pro' by Garth Ennis. You will laugh guaranteed unless you're Elmer Gantry, in which case you'll condemn it as filth.

That title's new to me, but this entire month I began reading an issue of Ennis's THE BOYS each day, and I am truly binge-floored, despite missing out on the first of five omnibuses. Hast thou heard of the concept ''Herogasm?'' Approach with caution.:censored:
None, but I have enough library books to sustain me.
God, yes, me too.....I make continuous hold requests up the wazoo, often due to finding intriguing titles in other holds' bibliographies. A never-ending experience of pleasure. Reading is the new sex, as most will one day know.:borg:

During the pandemic and beyond, I had already left my long-lasting job, which at least gave me the time and freedom to catch up on every single book and DVD from upstairs that I had not seen yet.......

.......except ADVISE AND CONSENT which is basically a 400-page single chapter. I only read 5-25 chapters of assorted books each morning and on (consider it a daily imaginary version of Playboy). Once I get to 4 books one a future day (eventually), I shall tackle AAC, just as I finally finished Benchley's JAWS last year....

Wait until you meet Love Sausage! My favorite part of The Pro is when the Superman spoof shoots a wing off an airliner.

I belatedly received my Talking Moopsy on Friday, January 2nd. Never mind it was supposed to arrive sometime in the middle of last year. That’s it as far as media-related material goes.

I have pre-ordered Strange New Worlds season 3. So there’s that.

Got a Dover Classics printing of "Dracula" (which is one of the few sci-fi/fantasy horror classics I haven't read), and Norm MacDonald'd not-a-memoir "Based on a True Story."

So far: it's impressive just how faithful the 2024 Nosferatu remake is to the original Dracula text, albeit in only partway into the book.
