Ok, rather than we ask what kind of new star trek, I go to "What kind of new space opera TV Series that you want to watch", explain the detail, and tell the reason.

I want to see that Revolution series Skiffy is supposed to be greenlighting instead of all that haunted house crap they're doing nowadays.
AMC's Red Mars also sounds promising.

I would like to see several Battletech Series.
The first one beginning just before the Fourth Succession War and continuing through it.
The second dealing with the Clan Invasion and the aftermath.
The third being a series set a hundred and fifty years or so before the first and dealing with the founding of the Star League.
The first two probably as seen through the eyes of a mercenary unit though without using the known ones such as the Gray Death Legion, Kell Hounds, or Wolf's Dragoons.

I'd also like to see a series that takes place in the not-too distant future, say 50 or 100 years into the future and be set against the backdrop of the first manned intersteller flight. However, I'd want the series to be primarily Earth-based and deal with what our world would be like in that time.
