What Kind of Flowers Do You Like?

I work with flowers a lot for my job (wedding/event planner) and I also love sending people flower arrangements. I sent three out today alone! Whether it's a client or a friend, I love trying to figure out what type of flowers they like, and how it fits with the rest of their personality.

People tell me that it doesn't count, but my favorite is the dandelion. I think they're absolutely beautiful. My best friend in high school used to randomly give me "dandelion bouquets" and I thought they were the best thing ever.

When I got married, I was highly surprised to find out that I loved roses. Pink roses. Pale pink roses. It was very girly of me, and disturbing.

So what kind of flowers do you like? Exotic, or something common? What sort of arrangements? Colors? Do you like something with more contemporary styling, or a mixed hand-tied bouquet? What do you grown in your own lawn?

Or do you think flowers are absolutely worthless?

I've always loved Lily of the Valley. My mother had some growing in the back yard when I was a kid. I haven't seen a live one for years but it's my favorite scent, too, and I've got oil and scented candles to remind me of them.

And I think dandelions count. I wonder how many people's favorites also have a history from their early years.

I love flowers. my favorites: sunflowers, gardenia, and an Indian flower called "Shiuli/Shefali". it's got a heavenly scent.

I also like pink-orange roses.

I adore flowers! Although I don't seem to get any because of my gender... :(

My absolute favorite would be light pink calla lilies.

As for arrangements, I saw one with pink and white calla lilies with baby's breath and a few yellow roses. Absolutely beautiful!

It's hard to pick a favortie - red roses, lilac, lily of the valley, iris - I love them all!

I like sunflowers, daisies, birds of paradise, dogwood, morning glories, and marigolds. However, I only like them when they're alive and growing either in the ground or in potted arrangements. I dislike cut flowers because they die. (I think getting a bouquet of flowers is wasteful and unromantic. It's supposed to be a symbol of love, but it's going to die in a few days.)

I like to send flowers, too; yesterday I sent both my mom and my husband's grandmother bouquets of flowers. It was my mom's birthday, and the grandmother is getting red-white-and-blue for 4th of July. The grandmother is a gardener in northern Wisconsin and especially likes to get flowers in winter.

Our yard has a natural look. Blooming now: catmint (purple), purple coneflower, liatris (purple), coreopsis (yellow), sage (purple), sunflowers, stonecrop (yellow), snapdragons, bush honeysuckle (yellow), potentilla (white), milkweed and daylillies (yellow).

Only flowers on the wall. (That don't bother me at all.)

Please, PLEASE, somebody get that... :vulcan:

Do you often find yourself playing solitaire till dawn, with a deck of fifty-one?

I actually don't care for most flowers, or their scents. But I do like roses.

^ Oh shit. I can't remember the next verse. I guess I need to be drunk to sing it.

I love flowers. (I used to do floral arranging for a living.) My favorites are blue delphiniums and Milva (pink and orange) roses.

I like tulips, roses, hydrangea, larkspur, delphiniums and bluebonnets.

I never cared much for sunflowers or daisies. Probably because they grew wild in our backyard when I was a kid, so I thought of them being more like weeds than flowers.

Yes.

Well, it's good to see you. I must go. I know I look a fright. And anyway, my eyes are not accustomed to this light.

And my shoes are not accustomed to this hard concrete...so I must go back to my room and make my day complete.

Dahlias, camelias, roses and lilacs are some of my favourite flowers. I love lilacs for their scent rather than their appearance.
