What Khan would have done to Terrel and Chekov to get their obedience if he had no Ceti Eels?

He was cruel and ruthless so probably he'd torture them. But would that enable him to take over the Reliant?

He's highly intelligent, and I think he would do some dastardly things to get what he demanded. If he didn't have those creatures at his disposal; I'm sure he had other measures to get answers and then finding... Admiral Kirk.

His in-depth study of Starfleet ship's systems while he was in sick bay in "Space Seed" would allow him to take over a ship such as Reliant. :techman:

Well ... as Khan told Captain Terrell on the planet, "... I am in a position to grant nothing." But he did have some Starfleet equipment being used in unconventional ways in his makeshift bunker. Maybe like that episode with Helen Noel in it, Khan could retool some handy medical device and turn the knob all the way until it created a hypnotic effect on the hapless Reliant crewmen ...

The eels -- I think they are more weevil-type things aren't they? Anyway, I always think it's funny that despite all life being wiped out on this planet the only thing that made it, are these dastardly mind control "eels". Handy enough that isn't it?

I'm sure Kahn would simulate a medical emergency, pretend the away team is incapacitated, pretend that they are a federation merchant ship that crashed or some damn thing, then convince Reliant to beam them up. Viola, there you go.

Force them to wear headphones and play an endless loop of Kirk, Spock and McCoy singing "row your boat "

Khan would have had Chekov repeat "nuclear wessels" over and over again until the bleeding stopped coming out of Terrell's ears and he gave up.

He'd have improvised. Unless he had sensors that told him about Reliant's arrival in orbit, capturing Terrell and Chekov was an on-the-spot reaction to their beam-down. He had presumably been using the eels to control rebels among his people, or why else would he have them to hand (second thought on that: maybe he'd preplannned just in case someone visited, knowing that if even it was unlikely, it was now his best/only hope), but if they hadn't been available he'd have come up with another approach (after all, he improvised fast to control an unfamiliar situation in Space Seed, which happened to run on CBS Action today).

I think a good rendition of row your boat is just the ticket. Make everyone think a little over the cosmic question of why fight when we can be friends? A nice sing-a-long, a little bit of affectionate shadow sparring between Team Kahn and Team Reliant."Aw you" "No, aw you", all finished of with an impromptu and jovial conga line in the heart of the Botany Bay. Instead of Kirk burstin' a vien, yellin' "Kahn!!!!", and Spock spending far too much time in the solarium, the only sound echoing from Regula One would be old friends having a bit of a laugh and a chat in the tropics to an easy Caribbean beat.

I'm sure Terrell would've cooperated after watching Khan pull Chekov's spine out.

You beat me Bill, your a sorcerer! But really, there were plenty of Reliant crew to murder, I don't think Terrell could watch them die and not fold.

But if Terrell doesn't fold, Khan had no way aboard Reliant.

I think Terrell is soft, like a Denebian Bloodworm.

Sorry, I get my insults mixed up, Denebian Slime Devil, Regulan Bloodworm, my bad.

You missed @Marsden's point. ANYONE would fold after watching their crew be murdered one by one in front of them. Even the strongest person would break after being forced to watch that. And Khan's evil enough to do it.

The eels must have a more varied diet than just the brains of their victims. That just seems their preferred staple. And just because they're the only remaining indigenous lifeform doesn't mean they're the only remaining lifeform at all. We saw the interior of two containers. We saw the exterior of what must have been a half dozen or so. Who knows what was in the rest of them?
