What is your least favorite episode?

A lot of people are picking episodes like Move Along Home, If Wishes Were Horses, and Fascination.

To me, episodes like that can’t qualify as “worst” because they don’t take themselves very seriously. If the attempts at whimsy fail, then the episode is at worst a forgettable waste of an hour. An episode like Melora, on the other hand, is memorably bad.

Ah, but the question in the thread was, "What is your least favorite?" not "What is the worst?" From my point of view, it doesn't really matter to me whether an episode is supposed to be taken seriously or not. Bad is bad, and failed whimsy can be just as painful to watch as failed epic plot. I suppose the only way failed epic plot might edge out failed whimsy for me is that with failed epic plot, it can drag down an entire arc rather than just serving as its own little corner of stand-alone Purgatory.

Anything relating to the Mirror Universe. Talk about sucking every bit of fun and interest out of a great TOS episode. Turning it into another generic "ooohhh, the rebels vs. the empire" story was such a boring idea.

Aw, Crossover was actually pretty good. Not as classic as Mirror, Mirror, but still a good episode. I was disappointed in Through the Looking Glass. I think I still have three more to look forward to.

They're getting successively worse every time. But Crossover was indeed a good episode. They should have left it at that though.

As far as MU episodes are concerned I would say that "Mirror, Mirror" (TOS), "Crossover", and "In a Mirror, Darkly" (ENT) are good, "Through the Looking Glass" and "Shattered Mirror" are average, and "Resurrection" and "The Emperor's New Cloak" are just plain bad.

ANY episode where they focus on the Ferengi, but mostly the Roswell one. NO Trek series ever did so much to cheapen, mock, and just downright ruin any hope the Ferengi race had of being used in a good way. It was nothing but the stupidest, most childish comic relief with them. I really hated the way DS9 used the Ferengi... they could have done SO MUCH better.
