I'm obviously partial to Italian food, but since it's not a "speciality" to me (just, you know, food), I decided not to vote for it. It would be like answering "What's your favourite scent?", "Air". :D

Same thing for me with "French" food.
I say "French" because there is not a single French food, there are several type of cuisine and when I say several the exact number is "more than you all think" ;)

I don't have a favorite food, it's too restrictive to have one ;)

I...mh...I shouldn't comment that ;)

Yeah, I thought about that as well, but I suppose that's true for every country. Sicilian food is radically different from Venetian, just as I suppose California is different from Boston, Marseille from Paris, Hokkaido from Okinawa.

Well... maybe it tastes better than it looks. I hope.

I just wanted to add that I have never had French food or Thai food and that I'm making plans to hit the Thai place up the street this weekend.

(I tend not to eat out much anymore)

Oh please, you know very well that the cuisine is different in every valley of the Alps

Japanese is my favorite, largely because of the way they do savory flavors. These are the people who gave us the word umami.

However, I eat just about every thing... as long as it's good. Very few forms of cuisine strike me as too unremarkable.

I like Italian food most of all. I think most foods from Europe are quite good. I never had the desire the taste for food from India or the Far East. I like Chinese food, but its American Chinese food, not the real deal. I always hear stories about people getting sick a few hours after having Indian food.

I am slighlty confused as to why there was not a choice for icecream. I suppose I would have chosen desserts had that been an option. :)

Ah, yes. I should revise what I posted upthread. My favorite cuisines are Italian, Japanese and ice cream. I love both gelato and American ice cream. And I remember the ice cream I ate in Russia years ago being very good, too.

Sorry, Iguana, your hope is in vain. IMHO, of course.

Almost every country I know has some really tasty morsels, so I find it hard to pick just one cuisine as a favourite.

If I have no choice but to choose, I suppose it would be "vaguely Mediterranean".

I picked other, since I like food from quite literally all of those cultures. I just depends on my mood.

Plus, there's no option for Canadian, and poutine (aka a heart attack in a bowl) needs to be represented somehow. :D

Whatever doesn't harm me can only make me fatter. :bolian:

But, to be specific, Indian food would probably be at the top (actually I recommend Sri Lankan food: spicier and with added coconut ) with Chinese and Thai food not too far behind.

I must also mention English and Scottish delicacies: there is something to be said for the good old fish and chip supper, the chicken-in-a-basket, and (seeing as Burns Night is fast approaching) haggis, neeps and tatties with a side order of deep-fried Mars bar. :bolian:

People, I just noticed. Where the hell is the chocolate?

[hides wrappers, looks around] What...?! :o ;)

I love german food. Sour beef and dumplings, sauerkraut, weiswurst, bratwurst, liverwurst, mmmmmmmmmm.

I voted Italian, just because that is what I'm craving right now, but
Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, and good ole American BBQ all work for as well.
