There are several films which mean a lot to me. Not only because of the story, but also the circumstances of where/when they were watched. And mostly from my childhood. I'll give two, but they don't really outrank all the others I consider favourites...

I've never really compiled a Favourite Films list before, so I guess here's 10 of them which have not yet been mentioned so far in the thread (quite a few of my favourites have already been mentioned at least once so far :)) - films which hold my attention significantly, or be something I would want to watch if it was on TV, or something I would own on DVD, or something which holds a special place in my heart.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Fight Club
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Young Frankenstein
Local Hero
The Princess Bride
Apollo 13
Monty Python's Life of Brian
Die Hard
The Goonies

These types of lists are always utterly subjective, as for me, it changes regularly. There are, however, many that won't shift off my 'top' lists. I now have over 1000 movies on DVD & BluRay, but here's the most regularly visited (in no order):

It's a Wonderful Life
Ghostbusters
The French Connection
Enter the Dragon
The Shawshank Redemption
Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
The Goonies
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Rear Window (along with about half a dozen of Hitchock's other great works)
The Bridge on the River Kwai

and so on....
