What is your favorite unused concept art?

Wonder what the deal was behind that design. Just an off hand thing? For the Next Gen movie? Or another Enterprise would be on DS9 making it an Enterprise based show again?
- I like to think that it was just an off hand sketch (it isn't labelled/annotated by Delgado like his other concept art/sketches in the book), but who knows? It is a pretty cool looking starship, though!

Link is working fine for me but here it is again on another site

I'm fond of his work. I liked this Enterprise E.

Yup, that Enterprise E was pretty damned nice! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Sovereign class, but I wouldn't mind seeing that design pop up as well, some day.

A few of these I'd forgotten about! Always loved that wider DS9 set idea, but I can understand why they went a different route as it wouldn't make a great set for the needs of the show and would be too expensive at the time to make it for anything else.

For me.... the almost-Voyager.

There's a pic of it here for anyone unfamiliar (just before the Enterpride D art). I always liked the harsh edges compared to the final versions curvyness. It looked like a nice departure from the Enterprise (all of them!). We'd seen the best of the best fly the best ships; that ship highlighted "these are the other guys!"

I remember that V-shaped ship showing up somewhere in a pencil drawing (maybe the Star Trek mag many years ago?) and it always intrigued me. I don't think it would have worked for Voyager, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it finished decades later.

Never been fond of the hammerhead Enterprise. The pitch had potential, but the design work had a long way to go. It all felt very 'first draft', but.... it's not surprising as it pretty much was all early work never completed :/

Finally found this. http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net...rclass1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100601171902 the Altair class by Doug Drexler. This shape was proposed for Voyager, the NX and the Enterprise J before it finally got on a calendar.
It is a cool design, but IMO it would have worked better as a Cardassian ship.
And here is one i'm kinda fond of. http://www.startrekff.com/storage/entskch04.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1242173216032 Hammerhead Enterprise design from a proposed animated series. Reminds me of SG1 though.
You're right, it's an interesting design, but really resembles the Daedalus class from Stargate, just re-oriented in reverse.

Off hand, I don't think I've seen one I liked so much it became a favorite. I've seen, off hand, a couple I liked.

I can't recall what it looks like now, but I remember seeign a scetch for a large Federation ship (the U.S.S. Titan?) that was going to be Riker's ship, that was going to get destroyed in the Borg battle in the opening of First Contact.

There was also a ship, I think I saw it in a Trek book with concept art, that kind of looked liek it was from the Excelsior class period, had Enterprise E-like nacelles, and at the front of the saucer (it was a top angle view of the ship) it was indented like a box, only the sideswere pointed outward at angles.

I was flipping through the Sketch Book for the first two TNG films and I saw a small sketch idea for the Enterprise E that had an itneresting design idea: flat angled out fans nacelles. Reminds me of something I did with a ship I built.

It also reminds me: every single sketch for the Enterprise E, was ugly. All of them. The shi pwas doomed from the beginning. Then the artist(?) commented on get an approval on the ideas or a pass. As I recall, it was once again Berman's fault. This guy couldn't stop himself.
