While I enjoy a lot of media sci-fi, Doctor Who wins by a wide margin, at least for me.

Sincerely,

Bill

Star Wars, followed by Firefly, Doctor Who, Babylon 5, Stargate SG-1 and probably more that just aren't coming to mind immediately. If the Marvel movies count as a sci fi franchise, they'd definitely be on the list as well.

Alien Nation, the tv series, with Gary Graham and Eric Pierpoint. Both also appeared in several Star Trek episodes.

Star Wars for me.

By the way, Galactica tends to split into old and nu.

And is spelled with only one "l".

(Sorry. Nitpicky editor here.)

And what, no Lost in Space? :)

(Just kidding!)

But, yeah, FARSCAPE ran for four-plus seasons, and also beget novels, comic books, action figures, games, etc. It should definitely have been included. Ditto Babylon-5.

In the end, I voted for Planet of the Apes, though, since I've been a huge APES fan since at least the early seventies.

Sorry, my "L" button sticks. I swear...

Farscape is my favorite scifi TV show, including Star Trek. Runner up would be the X-Files, though I would place that below my favorite Star Treks overall.

For movies I would go with Godzilla.

For me, the easy choice was Planet of the Apes. These last two prequels have been fantastic. I can't wait for the third one.

After Star Trek ....

Its nuBSG for me.

I might have wavered if Firefly was included.

Dr. Who and Farscape tie for third.

I might've gone with Star Wars if we were only talking about the OT. However, taking the prequels into account lowers the quality of the franchise as a whole too much.

I voted other. As far as TV goes I enjoy "Babylon 5", "seaQuest DSV/2032", "Alf", "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman", "Superboy" and the 1950's "Flash Gordon".

In books I would have to go with Tom Swift, especially the 1980's series (the others are more science fantasy).

I do like many listed in the poll, like Star Wars and Terminator and Planet of the Apes, but my other favorite franchises are Superman (superhero) and Godzilla. Not sure if either of them are classified as science fiction though.
