If PIC keeps up what it has shown so far in S2, and sticks a good landing (which DSC managed to do this season)...my rankings are certain to change to:

PIC
DSC
PRO
SHORT
LD

PIC
DIS
PRO
LD

Although I rank them bottom two, I'm still excited for the new seasons of the animated shows. and enjoy what I've seen so far.

DIS was top for me originally, but I've been impressed with season two of PIC, so far.

But I asked, what did you think of Prodigy? I still haven’t got around to it.
It's a fun show with sympathetic, cute and charming characters. The plots are a bit thin at times. But there are neat technology additions that are welcome to the Trekverse. And some interesting uses of legacy characters,

I'm not a fan of Trek in animation...but PRO is most definitely wothwhile.

It's leaps-and-bounds ahead of LD, TAS and the animated Short Treks we got a few years ago. I really like it.

Can't really agree on Prodigy. It just didn't click with me. Not sure why. I'd still say its better than TAS, though.
But to me LD is far above the two other animated shows, and also quite a bit above PIC and DISC, especially if I rank the shows by how much enjoyment I get out of them.
There's a reason LD is the only current NewTrek show I watch ;)

I can't believe this. Without going into spoilers, I thought I finally broke my personal tie between DSC and PIC. Then it went back into a dead-heat. It's going to be a constant tug.

I've never given so many 10 out of 10s during any given season of Star Trek before '21-'22. DSC's fourth season was my favorite (yes, I said it, deal with it) and now PIC's second season is giving me knockout after knockout.

They're making it not easy for me to choose between. But this is a good problem to have. Keep it up!

Frankly I find the lack of baseless, bile-invected ranting in this post to be extremely distressing (and so does my cat).

I expect posts regarding current Trek shows to cite constant crying, whispering and blatant emotionalism as reasons why the very concept of Star Trek needs to be sealed in a lead vault for a century. Even better if you could bemoan the destruction of Roddenberry’s utopia.

All this positivity gives me the heebie-jeebies.

PIC was on a stellar trajectory for me in the first 2-3 episodes, but this last one fell flat on its face for me (like.....REALLY bad). I don't think that's the show's problem...it's mainly just a matter of personal tastes...but I hope it's just a blip and not the beginning of a trend...because PIC got out of the gate hotter than any other series since TOS.

Again, it's not because the show is "incompetent" or anything like that...it's just that the plot and character content of the last episode was completely mis-aligned with my own personal likes/dislikes.

Yeah the reason I don't watch PIC anymore and why I don't like it is because it doesn't fit my personal taste and because I think some elements are simply unnecessary. It has nothing to do with the quality of the writing, which I think is quite good. I don't agree that it's "the best" current Star Trek show (that's LD, by several country miles), but it's still good quality.

It sucks because I, for example, like what they did with Seven in Season 1, and I liked, for example, Stardust City Rag as an episode and I thought they did good stuff with the Romulans (though not as much as I'd have hoped tbh).
But overall I'm simply unable to enjoy the show because, basically, they painted it a colour I dislike strongly.

and so does my cat
I never thought I would agree with a cat yet here we are.

Honest to goodness, you might like season 2. They have dramatically changed the colour palette almost entirely.

I basically see it like this:

DSC Season 4 showcased what I liked best about Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek.
PIC Season 2 showcases what I liked best about Harve Bennett's Star Trek.

Between the two, we've got the best of both worlds going on here. ;)

It's nice of you to to try to motivate me to return to PIC, I appreciate it, and I wish it could that way.
But it won't, they are not gonna change what I want to be changed, and even so what I've heard of Season 2 so far doesn't interest me much.

I'm just focusing on liking Lower Decks and looking forward to Strange New Worlds.

Meh. I haven't watched much of Picard but given the positive reception and the "True Trek" statements I figured it wouldn't hurt.

Glad you found something you like though.

Changed vote to PIC.
Snappy dialog. The queen and Agnes. Many other moments (Raffi and 7 recently). I have given up on wanting these shows not to be rife with shoutouts. I have gone over to the other side, and hoo baby is thing doin it for me. PRO is still #2. Stopped watching DSC
