Tbf, I still haven't managed to watch Prodigy, but am planning to.
It's literally not available outside the US and Canada. Until April, I believe when it'll appear on Nick. From it's oddly low position, I'm guessing a lot of people haven't. It's so much better than a 5 vote getter...

The only new Trek I have issues with is Discovery. That’s high praise from someone who’s generally critical of newer Trek.

It's a fun show with sympathetic, cute and charming characters. The plots are a bit thin at times. But there are neat technology additions that are welcome to the Trekverse. And some interesting uses of legacy characters,But I asked, what did you think of Prodigy? I still haven’t got around to it.
I can't believe this. Without going into spoilers, I thought I finally broke my personal tie between DSC and PIC. Then it went back into a dead-heat. It's going to be a constant tug.
I've never given so many 10 out of 10s during any given season of Star Trek before '21-'22. DSC's fourth season was my favorite (yes, I said it, deal with it) and now PIC's second season is giving me knockout after knockout.
They're making it not easy for me to choose between. But this is a good problem to have. Keep it up!

I never thought I would agree with a cat yet here we are.and so does my cat
Honest to goodness, you might like season 2. They have dramatically changed the colour palette almost entirely.Yeah the reason I don't watch PIC anymore and why I don't like it is because it doesn't fit my personal taste and because I think some elements are simply unnecessary. It has nothing to do with the quality of the writing, which I think is quite good. I don't agree that it's "the best" current Star Trek show (that's LD, by several country miles), but it's still good quality.
It sucks because I, for example, like what they did with Seven in Season 1, and I liked, for example, Stardust City Rag as an episode and I thought they did good stuff with the Romulans (though not as much as I'd have hoped tbh).
But overall I'm simply unable to enjoy the show because, basically, they painted it a colour I dislike strongly.
I basically see it like this:Frankly I find the lack of baseless, bile-invected ranting in this post to be extremely distressing (and so does my cat).
I expect posts regarding current Trek shows to cite constant crying, whispering and blatant emotionalism as reasons why the very concept of Star Trek needs to be sealed in a lead vault for a century. Even better if you could bemoan the destruction of Roddenberry’s utopia.
All this positivity gives me the heebie-jeebies.

Meh. I haven't watched much of Picard but given the positive reception and the "True Trek" statements I figured it wouldn't hurt. It's nice of you to to try to motivate me to return to PIC, and I wish it could that way.
But it won't, they are not gonna change what I want to be changed, and even so what I've heard of Season 2 so far doesn't interest me much.
I'm just focusing on liking Lower Decks and looking forward to Strange New Worlds.
