I don't mean to be a grammar nazi, but seriously, someone put that magazine headline in the past tense.
It needs an "S."No, no, strictly subjunctive mood there, implying doubt or uncertainty.
Sure, but I was commenting on it as written.In the present tense subjunctive, the verb is left in its infinitive form. It is indistinguishable from the present indicative except in the third person singular. However, the phrase above wouldn't work as subjunctive because of "how." Otherwise it would be an effective expression in the subjunctive, commanding Abrams to dumb down Star Trek!![]()
