However, at the time I visited Singapore, "home" was Massachusetts.

Okay, you win.I guess the longest distance a person can do is around 12,000.
Venice, California isn't a well known town, Teya.Just checked my atlas. The Greater Los Angeles area map only shows a Venice Blvd. between a couple of towns I've heard of, Santa Monica and Culver City.

Most maps won't show Venice as distinct from Los Angeles. But it's most definitely one of the best-known areas in Los Angeles, and the most visited stretch of beach in Southern California--perhaps the state.
Of course, no one has mentioned that Boston, MA didn't register with that distance finder, either...![]()

According to the distant calculator I posted Glasgow to Dunedin, NZ is 11703.45 miles.
Fascinating. I checked, and using a great circle route on a WGS 84 datum that's correct. I should have given them more credit.
And the largest distance possible would be about 12367.5 miles.

Anybody got any suggestions about start and end points for this longest journey?

They would both have to be on the equator and be separated by 180 degrees, or 10800 nautical miles.
