What is it?

Ok, I have something. No clue how easy or difficult it is, but it's from the kitchen and I'm sure it's something most people would consider extremely useless (but it's cool for one specific thing).

It looks like something to scrape out the insides of coconuts. You know, to make them lighter so that they can be carried about by swallows.

It looks like it's for coring something, while simultaneously pealing and cutting it into a long helical slice. For pineapples? The colour of the tool fits with that fruit. :)

I remember being perplexed by this thing when I first saw it. See if any of you know what it is...

I think I've seen clips for certain straps that kind of resembled that, at least part of the strap system in some harness setup.

Oh. Is it something you attach to one of those drink mixer things?

^Looks like some sort of clamp used to fit two pieces of wood together -but then again, the image doesn't really say much.

vacpot coffee maker. LOL

I saw that immediately; I have one of these (including an alcohol burner not in the picture):

Which pretty much is the same thing.

It's an ancient Minoan hairbrush, found in the labyrinth at Knossos.

I shall give you the answer.

It's a replaceable bit that fits into a masonry chisel.

They come with teeth or without. The one pictured has teeth.

The ones with teeth are known as scutch bits, and are used destructively. eg, breaking down concrete, or removing the plaster/rendering from walls.

Those without teeth are best suited to do neat work: cracking/shaping bricks and stone into wanted shapes and sizes.

Sorry if the original image wasn't too good. It was all I could find at the time. Here is a better one-

Alright, I'll try another one. Hopefully it won't be as obvious, but you people have some strange pockets of knowledge around here!

It looks portable (like the sides foldup) but I can't really make out what's going on inside.
