What is it you currently hold precious in your life and why ?

And I know I say this a lot, but there was one thing in particular that I really enjoyed - sitting with the Bleacher Creatures in Yankee Stadium. That was, literally, a life changing experience for me. It made me even MORE of a Yankee fan. :techman:

And I'm still working on my ultimate goal in life - to see a game at every baseball park in the major leagues. Next stop: Target Field in Minnesota.

What fun!!! :techman:

My brother and sister firefighters. It's a special group we have going here.

I would imagine that it would be. You have to be pretty special to be in that line of work. :techman: How many female firefighters are in your house?

Skipping the obvious, I'll have to go with my "Green Beast". Two years ago, I bought a new gaming computer, and it was a green Alienware. It's a good machine that does everything I need it to, and it's the first thing of any substantial value that I actually bought on my own.

I still hold dear my family and friends, but I certainly have noted that I feel less these days. Not sure what to make of it.

I think I've been feeling like this as well. It makes me feel cold, and lost.
For me, I think a lot of it has to do with living in a depressing city that I've hated from day one. When I leave permanently in the next few months, I hope I will be re-humanized.

I have absolutely NO idea what that is. Off to google....

We lost our beautiful 20 yr old nephew a couple of years ago and almost lost our amazing beautiful son the year before that...i really have no other answer other than my kids, happy, healthy and alive. I hold them as most the most precious things in my life. Not the answer you were looking for, but there it is. Nothing else matters more to me. I did take them for granted until what happened happened. Now I no longer do that.

Well, them and my ring. It is precioussssssss.......

oh god I'm so sorry for your loss :(

I hold my mom and dad, my niece, and a certain special someone precious. but I hate to differentiate. there are many other "things" I hold precious, foremost of which are my self-respect and the truth.

My imagination. I could lose all my Mahler recordings, yet I would still "hear" him with my imagination, and Beethoven, and others. I could lose all my books in a fire, but I can remember them. I can take a character from a book and run him through my own scenarios. But if I were brain damaged to the point where I couldn't imagine anymore, I would prefer non-existence.

I've told my wife that if I am in an accident with brain damage and they need to know whether or not to keep me alive, play Beethoven's 9th, choral movement, in my headphones (provided I'm not deaf) and monitor for visceral reactions. If there aren't any responses to that, I'm already merged with the universal and there's no need to keep the body alive. Even so, she should follow it with "Wie lieblich sind Deine Wohnungen" as they turn off the machines.

Right now... cuddles. I live for the next cuddle. I just can't resist putting my arms round someone and swidging into them. No one in particular... just anyone :D

Maybe 10? Not all are active.

Well, right now, the most important thing in my life is my sister. End of discussion.

My sister was diagnosed with cancer in October....and let me tell you, it's been a HUGE wake-up call.

You really don't appreciate the things you have sometimes, until you are in danger of losing them. And frankly, I cannot imagine my life without my sister.

These days, I am spending alot of time reading about treatments, nutrition, etc...and what is happening to her has also effected how I think about my own health, eating habits, etc.

Turns out we are not immortal after all. Who'da thunk?

Of course, I value my other family members too. In particular, my mom is getting up there in years and I worry about her also. But outside of my family members, my most important 'possessions' are my two dogs.

Everything else is replaceable. Everything.

PKTREKGIRL: I'm sorry about your sister's diagnosis. Sending lots of positive healing vibes her way!

ALPHA ROMEO: Ten? That's cool!
