Anyone go to the Google homepage and break up the Google balls with the mouse. Usually when they are doing something they would make the logo have a link and then explain what they are doing but not this time. Suffice it to say, unless this is just the Guys are google being bored and trying out new animation, I don't get it?

Interesting, just think it's someone's job to work on those things...

Cute, has a different action for activate and minimize too...

Balls. Clearly, Google is showing some love for testicles. [face_testicles]

Serious answer: September 7 is apparently Google's birthday and they celebrated it previously (although not every year) with some website animations.

Had to open up IE to see this, as it's apparently not working in Opera.

Sort-of nifty. It could be in recognition of Google's "birthday" or it could just be random craziness.

'Larry and Sergey's HTML5 balls drained my resources', Users left moaning by bouncy Google experience

Google's latest animated logo on its search homepage has caused a kerfuffle among many surfers whose CPU has been besieged by the ballsy doodle.

The Mountain View Chocolate Factory released its fancy HTML5-based BuckyBall animation on Saturday, and immediately users began complaining that it was sucking up too much CPU.

I'm pretty sure Google's birthday is September 27th, because it shares its birthday with me. At least, if I remember correctly, that's the case.

I'm not sure what the bouncy balls are for, but I don't think it's Google's anniversary.

ETA: Just looked it up, and apparently Google's anniversary has historically fluctuated between the 7th and the 27th for no clear reason. :wtf:

Now "Google" is grey and when you type the letters colorize.

Uhm.. get a computer that's made after 1980..

Wow, one tiny animation and people's computers are shutting almost down? :wtf:

Like the gimmick from today but the balls were annoying as hell.
