The Star Trek version of Hitler literally going to the fires of Hell... got to be good for people in the Trekverse, right? How is that a consolation prize?
I'm not sure how the former is a consulation prize for anyone but Dukat's enemies it would be absolutely the opposite to his friends, family and supporters. The Star Trek version of Hitler literally going to the fires of Hell... got to be good for people in the Trekverse, right?
Besides, "Kai Winn gets to die" isn't exactly a consolation prize either, is it?
What about Kai Winn's friends, family and supporters? They'd think her death sucked.I'm not sure how the former is a consulation prize for anyone but Dukat's enemies it would be absolutely the opposite to his friends, family and supporters.
The latter is most definitely a consolation prize for the fans.

I pretty much skip all of the Ferengi home world/issue episodes.Looking over the current thread on DS9's worst episodes, I realize how easily they are ignored. They are often forgettable from the start, not really attempting to move the series forward in any way. They tend to be little adventures or small detours for one of the characters.
On the other hand, think that there are a few episodes that attempted something big and fell short. They may not be the worst, but they show unrealized ambition.
The episode that comes to my mind is season two's Sanctuary, the story of the Gamma Quadrant race that fails to find a home on Bajor. The Skreea did not need to be sympathetic; I think that the flaky makeup made them feel "undesirable" and "unclean." Two things didn't work: there's little sense given that settling Bajor is essential for the Skreeans; and all the decisions to rejection their refuge are never depicted. This might have been another good political episode.
We know that they take showersAnother misfire was the lack of any exploration of the Breen, they join the dominion late in the war, and apparently don't participate in the peace conference.
Biggest misfire? Half the cast. The Bajoran religion is New Age swill. Bashir is genetically engineered? Odo's and Kira's romance. Dukat, seasons 5-7. The season 6 six part opener. "The Emperor's New Cloak".Looking over the current thread on DS9's worst episodes, I realize how easily they are ignored. Are you being sarcastic? We know that they take showers![]()
not at all. Kira and Dukat stole the uniforms from two Breen warriors while they were in the shower. Are you being sarcastic?
Ah it's been awhile since I watched that episode.not at all. Kira and Dukat stole the uniforms from two Breen warriors while they were in the shower.
I don't think Lucasfilm would have liked that at all.How they handled the Dominion War....save for a few "big eps" it felt really small. I know this is a character show, so we don't need grandiose visuals like Star Wars....but they really could have taken a queue from B5 as how to do a war arc on a limited budget SciFi series. Pretty much any of the Ferengi stuff, I feel like there could have been the potential (if used sparingly) to see some interesting stuff with Ferengi Politics and society. Unfortunately it turned into not even that funny comedy stuff. Vic the hologram, I don't really buy that every human is obsessed with 20th century entertainment. It would have been neat to see brief shot's of Bashir and O'Brien doing stuff in the Holosuite (This would have obviously never happened because Money but I always had this Imaginary scene where they are simulating the Battle of Yavin in Star Wars, as they are screaming down the trench of the Death Star in X-Wings You can hear O'Brien complaining about how this makes no sense at all, why go down the trench, etc. etc. and Bashir telling him he's missing the point, Impossible odds, saving the Galaxy, being the hero, etc. etc. Them both having a laugh that this is what 20th century humans thought the future would be like, etc. etc.)
Probably not. But it would have been funny. Brief clips for humorous effect can be fair use.I don't think Lucasfilm would have liked that at all.
