What ifs never considered yet

That we know of
He kept his rank and command, didn't he?
Gary, on the other hand, arguably acted with his own free will the whole time. There's much less evidence (if there was any at all) that whatever that was in the galactic barrier, "possessed" Gary (in the same way the Borg do), or if it simply amplified what was already there.
So, again, like Vulcans stripped of their ability to repress emotions turning evil, which can be interpreted as their "true self." They always return to duty afterwards, normal fare.

I don't consider what happened to Gary Mitchell a form of possession. It was more like him attaining abilities and, like so many people have done in the past and today when suddenly gaining status, money, or power, being corrupted by that. Notice that he spoke much more softly in the quick instance when his eyes returned to normal.

As for Picard, it was possession since we have seen many times how they lose their individuality to the Collective.

Maybe Picard did have a hearing off screen, and was still exonerated of any wrongdoing.

I guarantee Picard faced some kind of inquisition...right after a 15 hour long debriefing...which was right after a long medical recovery. And mandatory counselling sessions probably followed all this.

What if, in addition to seeing the Dominion War through the eyes of Weyoun and company on Cardassia, we got to see the Dominion's point of view on the Gamma side? They were essentially bench players that never got to play.

But if Mitchell had been personally corrupted, why would that corruption suddenly disappear when the powers abruptly vanished?

Mitchell without the powers appeared to instantly return to "normal."

What if some DS9 characters had been stuck in the Gamma Quadrant while the wormhole had been mined and had to band together to survive and try to bring down the Dominion from that side? I don't think this would have actually worked but I can't shake this idea of a bunch of characters like Worf, O'Brien, Kasidy Yates, T'Rul all stuck in the GQ and running around causing mischief.

What if, instead of Ezri, Dax's next host had been male? Could any of the men who loved Jadzia (Worf, Bashir, Quark) have still loved Dax in that form? Or would it have been Beverly in "The Host" redux? Not that I ever thought Bashir was even bisexual, but I think he might have been able to.

What if, instead of Voyager, we got a spinoff show about this?

The Trekverse needs more T'Rul!

What if :-
V'Las stopped the Syrannite coup
Baby Elizabeth Tucker had lived
Surak's katra refused to leave Archer's mind cos it needed improving
Trip challenged Kos to a duel

I think that would be interesting to explore.

Baby Elizabeth Tucker had lived
Elizabeth's death wasn't really necessary to the overall story, although it did insert pathos. At the same time having her live would of little impact on the series given it was so close to it's conclusion.

Trip challenged Kos to a duel
Semi-major rewrite, T'pol and Koss experience pon-farr, and T'Pol calls for kallie-fee, naming Trip as her champion.

Siddig is his nephew! Wow!

Edit - just read his bio on Wiki, he has VIP/famous relatives

Actually, I did some checking and one of the eps that Sid DID direct ("Business as Usual") was to have starred McDowell. He would have played the arms dealer Hagath. However there was a scheduling conflict and so they cast Steven Berkoff instead.

What if in "Yesterday's Enterprise" the Enterprise-C had been destroyed before it could return back to it's home time? What would Picard's next actions have been?

I guess he would have had to take their place. If he did, would he instantly be restored back to normal?

What if - DS9 Finale edition:

What if when Odo linked with the Founder, rather than him changing her mind, she changed HIS mind.

What if Sisko returned at the very end(he said he was coming back, and had a lot more work to do) Would he try to get his job back?

What if Bashir hugged O'Brien for just a few seconds too long, and made O'Brien uncomfortable as he got on the bus.

OK. I thought I'd have more...that sucks...

The novels said Sisko was in line for a promotion anyway, so running the station was now Kira's job anyway.

Read Q Squared
That's a great book (even if I don't agree that the YE Picard and Riker would be that bloodthirsty) but what I meant was what if the E-C had been destroyed before the time hole had closed. Would Picard go back in time to try to "correct" things somehow or would he stay in his future timeline?
