I guess the thread title says it all but I will sort of describe a situation. Let's say your inside a house with a random baby. I don't want the baby to be related to you because that would create to much of a emotional situation and, naturally everyone will put a loved one first in any situation. This baby is just some random baby that someone how got into your home.
Anyways a robber breaks in and he is carrying a gun, also he doesn't have a mask on. For whatever reason on you or the baby can get out, and one has to say behind and you get to choose? Here is what I see as the major issue. If you leave the baby behind it might be safer because the baby can't fight or stop the criminal and it can't identify the criminal either in some future trial. Downside is the baby can't defend itself and the guy has a gun.
The downside for you is the robber might see you as a threat and just shoot to take no chances or the fact that you can identify him in a trial means he might not want to leave any witness, alive. The upside is you clearly stand a better chance in a fight, plus as a adult it means that our lives are deemed to have less value as a baby or a child. because they re innocent and they haven't had a chance to enjoy life.
Me I would stay behind with the robber. For starters I always liked the idea of dying as a hero. The second is I want to protect my stuff. Replacing a tv might sound easy for someone with money but I am poor so those things are hard to replace. Also it would be a good story to talk about if i live. I need some new stories. Stuck in my house all the time it's hard to find new things to have conversations about.
