What if they killed someone off?

Eww...I did not think of slash fanfic, and now I need brain bleach!!

Would we be upset if they killed off like Chekov or Sulu during the movie?

Nah, not one of them...

I keep thinking Nimoy's Spock will die... again.

I hope not. It will cast a depressing pall over the entire film which would seem to contradict Abrams' efforts to revitalize Star Trek. We know Nimoy's Spock is getting up there in age, we don't have to actually see him die (again).

There was once a thread here about this story, (ST11) enabling Spock to know throughout his entire life he'd be visiting himself as a youngster. I don't remember if the following aspect was covered in that thread or not, if so, please disregard but if not; how cool, (or not) would it be if (old) Spock dies in young Spock's arms or at least in each others presence?

Personally I'm not sure if it's good idea for the following reason but perhaps something to think and talk about...

Would one of those time-travel paradox thing's come into play? '...Old Spock dies in young Spock's arms who later goes back in time and dies in young Spock's arms who later goes back in time and dies in young Spock's arms who later goes back in time..." I need a coffee.

Anyway, despite that headache, on the flip side; there does seem something poetically bittersweet about it, I cannot put my finger on it though...

He-he I can hear the Shat now; I wanted to die in my own arms!

Has it been stated (by anyone who counts) if the elder Spock tells his younger self that he is in fact his older self? Or, does old Spock introduce himself as someone else and doesn't reveal himself to young Spock until the end?

What if old Spock has inherited Bendaii Syndrome from his father and it's beginning to manifest itself? With the help of his strong-minded younger self, he is able to prevent the death of Kirk in the past. Once that mission is complete, he dies quietly in young Spock's arms.

I've said all along that they should kill Chekov to prove that all bets are off, that this isn't going to be the same timeline and that no one is safe.

Only we find out in the NEXT movie it was TED Chekov and not PAVEL, who is introduced in ST:XII!

No, this is all speculation. We have no idea what's going to happen when Spock goes back in time.

They damn well better kill off someone in a red shirt!!!

I love the avatar, Alpha_Geek! Major Matt Mason, right? I had one when I was a kid. Even had the bridge/cockpit fold out lunch box type thing. Also the blue suit and red suit guys.

Of course it's all speculation, my dear Tralah. And will be until we see the movie...

I think you're referring to T'Cal and not me? I know it's all speculation, which is what I was telling T'Cal since she (or he?) asked. Obviously we'll know the answer when we see the movie, but we don't now. :) I enjoy the speculation, but I thought T'Cal was wondering what is speculation and what has actually been confirmed at this point.

We already did the Piotr Chekov story in "Day of the Dove".

KIRK: "His only brother, killed in a Klingon raid."
SULU: "His brother? He never had a brother. He's an only child."

What if the bad guys manage to do some serious temporal damage that Old Spock is unable to stop before killing them off. Then to minimize the damage Old Spock transfers the katra to his younger self so that he can know what is supposed to happen in the future, and make it occur.
