I got a better idea: How about they just say it?
I don't need to be jerked around by a TV show that's trying to be coy and trick an audience into watching it.
And as we saw with Enterprise, the fan base and the general audience can just walk away from a show where TPTB "do whatever they please."The producers and studios who hold the rights to make this stuff, not to mention the hundreds of millions of dollars to back it all up, can do whatever they please.
Not saying anything has us all talking about it ad nauseum and ensuring that this stuff remains as topical as it can be. There's no real incentive to say anything, every incentive for them to stay schtum and keep us guessing. I expect we'll be able deduce a few things when eventually a trailer comes around to stoke the flames of our interest.
Heinlein-esque in devotion to and insistence on Timeline and Continuity!
How about:
3 Casts
Run the Gamut, from pre-"Enterprise" timeline to a Post-"TNG"
All Storylines and References
Star Trek: Omniverse
That'll make the fans happy!
And, only $10 Million an episode.
Ok, so CBS Ultra, or whateverthef*ck will have to charge, like $1000 a month...
With JJTrek we have already seen the establishment of an alternative time line. But they've decided to revive Star Trek. They have to take the so called restrictions that come with that.
They get to decide what "restrictions" matter to them and which can be discarded. You don't.
