What if the Dominion had won

Weyoun probably would've went ahead and destroyed Earth (probably Vulcan, Andor, and Tellar as well). Stiff-necked Vulcans would probably be exterminated to a man. The Dominion might or might not eventually fall to rebellion, as predicted by Bashir and his Augments. Really, they seem less vulnerable to an insurgency than most governments.

Maybe the Organians would wake up and realize the shit was going down. Who knows?

Well, you do know that the writers were considering having the Dominion win the war, don't you?

Rick Berman would have no part of that idea. But it was considered.

But basically, if the Dominion had won the war, a good chunk of the AQ would be like Bajor was during the Occupation. The Cardassians, in that case victors, would make sure of that.

^I suppose it makes sense, insofar as the AQ didn't win through conventional means anyway, they won because biological warfare works. That's a nice message from Trek. :p

If STPTB&B wanted to be realistic, the Dough Boys should've won the war.

Victorious Dough Boys would've meant:

* α and β Quadrants under the Femme-Odo's thumb.

* New genocides of assorted & various α & β Quadrant civilizations by the Milky Way's leading professional genocidists: The Great Link

* The :rommie: Star Empire a temporary isle of independence & resistance in the Great Dominion Ocean.

* Bi-quadrant war & terrorism without end.

* Genocide of the :cardie:s was inevitable. Fate. The Femme-Odo told Garak it was so.

But when & by what trigger or "justification" would this gen:cardie:cide happen had the Dough Boys won the war:confused:

* This would leave V'GER the possible Messiah for the A/B quadrants yes:confused:

Perhaps with :borg: help:confused: And/or also help from the "Boothby" party of Species 8472:confused:

* Be nice in the event the Dough Boys won the war: Q, Q2, the Douwd, the Organians {mentioned already^}, the Metrons, Trelane the Adult, or SuperKes, entc ent al came to the conquered UFP's aid & made the Dough Boys flee back through the wormhole to Foundera.

*:confused:

What now?

Personally, if they had won, I think the Founders would have discovered the races of the Alpha Quadrant far less willing to submit than the races in the Gamma Quadrant. There would have been a quadrant-wide insurrection, with human, Klingons, and Vulcans, all leading the way. Kira would have taught Sisko and the others how to be insurgents, IMHO. -- RR

It woulda been like Sisko described in Statistical Probabilities. Generations worth of interplanetary insurgent warfare against the Dominion empire. Which would have made for an awesome show and/or series of epic 3-hour-long movies (or even epic DS9-specific movies). Sure woulda been a lot better than lame TOS rehashes we got 'continuing' Trek instead. :rolleyes:

I got sick of insurgent warfare just hearing about the Bajorans doing it to the Cardassians. It's completely ridiculous in context. The Bajorans defeating a space-faring empire through suicide bombings is only slightly less ludicrous than the Cardassians requiring Bajoran slave laborers to move carts of ore around on a space station.

Insurgent warfare doesn't work if the occupying power doesn't care about the population you're hiding in and also doesn't even have any use for it. Rebellion on Earth? Earth is eradicated from orbit. Rebellion on Vulcan? Vulcan is eradicated from orbit. What did the Dominions do when the Cardassians rebelled? Oh, yeah, Cardassia Prime was eradicated from orbit!

Everyone remembers that the Warsaw uprisings failed, right?

Everything would be hunky dory. With the glorious Founders watching over everyone no one would have to worry about the guys over the fence invading them, but if they do then they don't need to do the fighting because they have legions of ready Jem'Hadar more then willing to come along and kill the other team for you. With warfare now outsourced to the Dominion humans can explore to their hearts content. Vote 1 Dominion occupation.

Frankly, doubt whether Earthlings could mount a resistance. Future Earth in ST seems like modern day France, bunch of uber pacifists. Wonder what humans would fight the Jems w/? Throw their shoes at them? No, I know....talk...convince them to play nice, sorta like most of the world feels toward Islamic Radicalism.

Yeah, exactly. That's why Sisko called it right by pointing out it would take future generations to take back the AQ. Because the current generations don't have the stuff to do it. But eventually after many generations they would realize they'd have to man up else they will always be occupied, and that's when they'd finally man up. :bolian:

yeah, I think that since the Dominion had very few qualms about destroying races or planets, I don't think they would have hesitated to kill billions more after the war. I think any scenario of the Dominion winning the war would have been the end of Star Trek because the Founders would do as you describe and just kill everyone everywhere if they needed to.
My opinion I guess.

Actually, I didn't. I always thought the end of the war was a little too easy for the UFP.....The writers certainly gave the impression that the Dominion was well on their way to defeating the Alpha Quadrant powers early in the 6th season....even later really.....one moment the folks from "Statistical Probabilities" are saying the Dominion will win....even when the Romulans enter the war.....the next minute the UFP has Cardassia and the Dominion on the ropes. I seem to remember there being some talk that the fate of the UFP was sealed even if the Dominion never got more ships from the the Gamma Quadrant.

I guess the change in the show can be attributed to Berman.

How the war ended with the convenient surrender of the female Founder was too easy. But apart from the Breen's entry into the war with their magical weapon the war had been in the Federation Alliance's favour since the Romulans entered.

From that point we don't hear of any major conquests by the Dominion, we hear the opposite with the alliance starting to liberate major worlds like Benzar and they start taking back Kalandra. The alliance is also comfortable holding off the Dominion according to Senator Letant by the end of 2374. Then the alliance takes the war into Cardassian space and takes Chin'toka. Then prior to the Breen's entry they take the Septimus system in Cardassian space as well. So for around a year and a half it seems that the alliance is starting to grind their way to victory over the Dominion, so their eventual victory in the end isn't really out of no where.

I remember it was rumored that if the Dominion won the war Voyager would have returned home and led the insurgency.

All planets would become Dominion territories and all military vessels of those worlds would be destroyed. It was also made clear that Weyoun after conquering the Federation was going to destroy Earth to prevent any possible future uprising and rebellion.

I don't think Weyoun was going to destroy Earth. Seemed to me he was disappointed at thinking he wouldn't be put in charge of it, because he wanted to govern it.
