What if Sauron won?

I had this really weird dream last night that played on this idea. Sauron manages to recapture the One Ring and kills both Frodo and Gollum, while Aragorn and company flee Pelennor Fields (to where, I don't know). The focus of the dream then turned to Sauron attacking the east and seeing Alatar and Pallando (the remaining two Istari who went to the east and lost their way) fighting Sauron.

I don't remember much more about the dream but it got me thinking: What would have happen if Sauron reclaimed the One Ring?

It would be like what Beelzeboss was gonna do to KG except to everyone:

Sauron going after the Undying Lands would be like a Somali pirate in a sailboat taking on a carrier battle group.

Don't underestimate the power of the sailboat.

The US Navy gets pwned by the equivalent of Ewoks!

Yeah, and this is a serious problem for the US Navy, which hasn't had to do anything since 1945. At this point the Navy is running on theory built on theory built on theory, with all the short-sighted and anti-progressive tendencies common to any institutional bureaucracy. The results of MC 2002, and the way the Navy reacted to them, are a perfect example of that. One of these days the US Navy is going to be on the receiving end of a very nasty wake-up call.

Not necessarily - it will need whatever "rebel" army that decides to go up against the US Navy to have a really great military leader ( somebody who truly understands warfare and strategem ) and also the resources ( some missiles were used by the Red team I think). It will have to be a perfect storm kinda situation.

I think if Sauron had won, there would have been a long period with Evil ascendant. It would culminate in an unmaking of ME by either the Valar or even Iluvatar himself kinda like the cataclysm that visited Numenor except on a wider scale. The resultant lands would be cleansed and then one fine day, some of the elves that had 'died' and were in the Halls of Mandos, would awaken besides a lake in the new ME. And almost an age later, they would be going about their merry way when they would suddenly encounter Humans.

The cycle would have repeated, basically.
