What if "Call to arms - Sacrifice of angels" was a movie?

They are, perhaps, Trek's best run of episodes. I think it would be difficult to bring it all down to 2 hrs, even if you jettison the entirety of Sons and Daughters.

I agree that Sons and Daughters doesn't belong there. What were they thinking?

Another problem with this is that they don't show Sisko's rescue from the planet! It's going to be a hard job to make sense of that wen i try to join the episodes....

Yeah, and it's not like you can put some other footage in its place.

I did say "most." As it is, the important bits of Rocks and Shoals could easily be cut down to less than five minutes.
The OP has suggested something interesting--indeed, I am eager to see the results of his "movie." Nonetheless, the cuts he makes could alter the nature of the arc, making it more action oriented than dramatic. (Of course, he could be a very talented editor.) The interesting thing about the six-episode arc is that it balances and interweaves several story lines effectively. Dramatically, I feel that what happens on the station--minus a lot of Dukat's ingratiation of Ziyal--is much more meaningful than what happens with the SF crew. Kira and Odo's experience do more to explain why the fight is necessary. Rocks and Shoals goes further: it explains, from Sisko's perspective, why negotiation is impossible. If the movie needs to explain the motivations of the characters, much more of Time to Stand can be eliminated than Rocks and Shoals.

^I imagined it would be action orientated. If you tried to focus on the personal storys, you'd have a +three hour movie. Call it Star Trek: The Battle for DS9 or something.

Speaking of which, you know what would be nice? If someone did a compendium of all the battle scenes of DS9. I'd definitely watch that!

Aye, you couldn't do it without changing the emphasis of the originals just a little.

Which, of course, would only make the final product even more interesting to see. ;)

You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs. Well, you could but Worf would be the only one to eat it.

^Can't you just get someone else to break the egg though? Then one could make an omelet without breaking any eggs. Not to mention powdered eggs.

If we are to nitpick the phrase "without breaking some eggs" doesn't say who breaks the eggs...

Powdered eggs weren't initially made this way (I hope), they had to be broken at some point.

I hear that they had chickens (genetically) modified so that they would lay shell-less eggs but that's just creepy!

That phrase is an anachronism. There are many, many ways to make omelets in this day and age without the person making the omelet ever breaking an egg.

All this means is that you can't make an omelet without using someone else's broken eggs or going old school and breaking them yourself.

I hope you'll be able to do something with it. Some parts are not easy to do without, without losing plot coherence or continuity.

Here's a little test with editing and color correction. On the left side there's my attempt, and on the right the original one. Sorry for the poor quality of the image, btw.

When cropping the video for 16x9, keeping as much head room as possible would be my preference. Here, Garak's head is chopped off a bit. In this case, I would crop more from the bottom. Though I realize there will be times that it's going to be unavoidable.

Instead of cropping, some prefer to distort the image so that it covers the format without losing anything.

It's subjective, but I definitely prefer no distortion!

Relax, this is just a color test! I haven't begin the editing yet. :techman:
Nice advice tough. I would like more, if possible :D

Now, would someone tell me if they liked my color correction work?

LOL...sorry. Hard to say with just a frame, but yes I think it looks pretty good based on what you're working with!

I am not very good at perceiving nuances in colors, probably why I have a terrible fashion sense, so I don't think I can be of any help here.

No need for sorry! Precious advice you gave me :)

Just a little close up on our beautiful Jadzia here :D Notice that there is already a little distortion. Nothing noticeable tough ( i hope):

I'm afraid i'm giving a little to much contrast. anyway... Any observations or ideas are welcome. ;)
