what i like to see

I've got a story on the go that involves the Eighth Doctor in flashback, but not in a huge role. I could expand the part, but as it is now you wouldn't even need McGann, just a guy in his costume and a wig from behind as he looks out at something that the story's about that's a secret.

I very much like the idea of an episode that plays like an Eighth Doctor episode with Eleven and Amy popping up at the end or something. That would be great.

Fanwankery and criticism be damned. Fuck worrying about aging or continuity. This is Doctor Who, and we're talking about the 50th anniversary.

I want every living Doctor, together, for a two-hour special or a damn miniseries. All of them. Tom, Peter, Colin, Sly, Paul, Chris, David, and Matt. I want them to spend gaboodles on three CGI-animated adventures for Hartnell, Troughton, and Pertwee.

Tom and Colin are fat? So?

Chris won't come back? Says who? Large donations to one of his many charities might persuade him, assuming he even has a problem with it at all.

David playing the clone? Are you mad?? If Tennant is back, you HAVE to have him as The Doctor...not an imitation-throwaway concept.

Paul doesn't want to wear the wig? Cool, first scene is Number Eight getting a haircut.

Colin hates his coat? Yep. We give it a brief shot hanging on the coat rack in the TARDIS, and the rest of the time he's wearing whatever the actor feels that his Doctor should wear.

Etc., etc.

It's just that simple. It's Doctor Who. They are The Doctors. And it should be all of them, while we have them... :techman:

That's very lovely, but it'd be a right mess to watch. Done wrong and it could be a bit embarrassing.

One issue you wouldn't have is Colin not wanting to wear the coat now. He has a special version for appearances that suits his figure these days.

If you say so. I don't see the rocket-science behind it, though. It's simple, get them all together, write a story, and shoot it. It's Doctor Who. I'd love them for just being there.

Embarrassing for who? It's a television show. How can it embarrass someone?

Cool. I'd give him the opportunity to pretty much look how he wants. Of all of them, he deserves it...

They must do something epic for the 50th anniversary. A multiple Doctors story would fit that bill, though having something to do for all eleven of them might turn out to be a bit of a headache.
I like the idea of a young One being involved.

Depending on how Smith lasts, we might have twelve by then...

Hope not :( Smith is by far my favourite new Who Doctor already. I hope he'll stay in the part for a long time.

I think you've got no chance of seeing Eccleston in DW again.

Ah, why he left is still a bit of a mystery isn't it.

AFAIK, Eccleston just did exactly what he signed up for: Played one season as the Doctor, and that was it. He wasn't fired, he didn't quit, he did what he was asked to do. The plan was always for him to do one season. I think.
I know for as close to fact as one can that the plan wasn't for him to just do one season even if more were commissioned. He definitely chose to leave.

Sounds like the 2013 Christmas Special is sorted now

I'd love to see a 50th Anniversary mutl-Doctor story.

But only if Russell T. Davies writes it. ;)

As I understand it, while Eccleston didn't exactly enjoy making the first season, he considered doing a second -- or at least part of a second. But he was taking too long to make up his mind, and higher-ups at the BBC began talking to Tennant about taking up the role. When Eccleston found out, just as "Rose" was about to air and the BBC was planning the commission on the second season, he decided to leave, because he felt that the BBC was trying to pressure him -- and that they didn't really want him.
