What have you always wanted to see in a space battle?

  • Using transporters to rip apart a starship. Close-up on engineering section with multiple transporter beam effects occuring rapidly as parts of the hull disappear before ship loses antimatter containment and explodes.
YES. My friends and I have literally been talking about using transporters to destroy equipment (since we've seen that beaming through shields "incorrectly" results in mangled stuff) for DECADES. But, as you describe it, this would almost certainly be a tactic used by a Federation enemy. Because if Starfleet was doing it, they would target the enemy's computer core, instead, to disable the enemy rather than kill. ;)

We saw several minutes of this kind of thing on Kronos in Star Trek Into Darkness.

No, that's not comparable to what I'm imagining here.

Think more... Geonosis, but actually caring about what's happening on screen, scaled down a bit and getting into hand to hand.

The Kang and Kor battle against the Federation outpost at Caleb IV would be cool to see represented in some way.

Battle of Klach D'kel Brakt with Kor against the Romulans is another interesting one for me.

I'm honestly not trying to be combative, but Geonosis was the most inane, gawd-awful, endless, mind-numbing action scene in the history of cinema.

Yeah that sounds cool. There's ways to do crowd scenes right, we've seen that in cinema before, it's just finding the right balance in a scene.

I would like to have a quiet space battle in one of these block buster film. Whatever happened to in space no one can hear you scream but they sure can here the lasers and explosions.
