I never completed it or any Monkey Island game but played it for the humour. Same with Leisure Suit Larry.

That latter one is a bit of a thorn for me. I played them when they were brand new but once you played the first two Larry games the novelty soon wore off and the humor was paper thin. I see there is a new one out this year but really do we need Larry?

I get what the makers of the game were going for but it was then, and is now still half hearted it's a game about a guy trying to get a fuck or two. Why not just go all in or nothing and have a proper game where this can happen instead of playing it off coy with almost schoolboy humour.

without hyperbole, I think I could probably listen to the Sims 4 build mode pieces most of the day.

edit: put in better sample of it.
edit edit: sorry G.D. we were posting exact same time, I think.

Haha no need to say sorry for anything ... This has become a fun thread

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. I played this on the PS3 and it's been one of my favourite RPGs, and one I feel is quite underrated. This was the game that was co-developed by Studio Ghibli, ie they did the animation and the music, and it's got a lot of the characteristics of a Studio Ghibli film in it. I was absolutely charmed by it and just hearing the theme now brings back good memories. Consequently, the scene in my avatar is from that game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a flawed game in my opinion, but when it's at its best its wonderful.
Nothing beats violating the 10 Commandments alongside Father Godwin and they made a great song for it.

Poverty, plague, and famine comes
No man can stand against it
Terrible grief fell on the land
Whoever has legs runs far away
Children scream, women are scared
Yesterday's living are dust today
Even holy men are scared
Well I wouldn't want to be in their shoes

But we don't care,
so let's have a beer!
And drink till we're stupid like in the Last Day
We'll have fun
And party till morning
So roll out the barrels and sit with me

So sit here and pull them out
Show me those tits as big as wagons
Tomorrow is Judgment Day
So pour me another drink
Let the world spin
After all, no one knows today
Whether Jesus will appear tomorrow
And if thos the last time

It was a really great game. They also remastered it and released it for PC awhile back. The animation in it blew me away. I mean, if you watch a Studio Ghibli movie, and then play this game, you'd think you were in one of their movies. There was a sequel to it too, which I haven't played yet, but that one didn't have their involvement in it. There's also a Ni No Kuni animated movie (which uses some of the same basic concepts with different characters), which I saw on Netflix, but I don't know if it's still available there.

Oh and I have Kingdom Come: Deliverance on my llibrary waiting to play :D

And Captain Blood's mostly because it's the latter part of the track 'Ethnicolor' by Jean-Michel Jarre:

The intro to Final Fantasy X-2 was jarring as hell after the world building and epic story of X. But in retrospect it was meant to be, and it got the job done. This was NOT going to be a "Regular" Final Fantasy game. The music is very early-2000's, so it's become its own time capsule, in a way.

For all its goofyness, the dress-sphere system, open world, and active time battles made it one of the funnest game plays of any console rpg of the time. You just had to tiptoe your brain around the cringe stuff.

This old one from the early Pokémon games...
