What Does Trek United think of the new movie?

TrekUnited is a fan community just like this place, there are no ongoing campaigns or anything like that anymore, the focus these days is supporting fan projects relating to Trek. TU's reputation has been damaged by a few individuls in the past, but these day they are trying to move on from those eventful times and just be a place were fans around the wold can get together to share in all the things that are Star Trek.

Besides. Enterprise season 5?? heck the new thing is BSG season 5 complete with episode rating polls right here on trekbbs. :) :)
Sorry, I really can't let the underlying meaning of that fly... There are always bad apples, but for most part I saw fans standing up for what they believed in, against being bullied into accepting "received wisdom" about ENT. TU's reputation took more damage from within, by moving away from the core value from which it was formed. Focusing on too many projects, far removed from the reason many joined in the first place. Hard to show any support when members drop off, frustrated at being marginalised in a place they considered their online home.

Then there is the legend that was Al Vinci...

Well no real argument there. As for core values, as the 'other' parent (founder, whatever) of Trekunited I can tell you TU was created with 2 goals in mind, the first being bringing Enterprise back and the other to unite Trek fans from all over the world ( thats why I named it trekunited.com :) ) to celebrate Star Trek and the ideas and projects that go along with that. I have always been a bit of a pragmatist and knew that win or lose, the goal to bring back Enterprise would end one way or another. So, I wanted to concentrate more on the global community aspect while Tim and the others worked more on the campaign stuff. We fought the good fight in regards to Enterprise, and while we did not get our wish we certainly did make alot of noise both good and bad.

There are alot of things I could say, hell I could even write a book with all I know, but i will let things stay in the past and move forward doing what I can do to help promote and build scifi.

As for Al Vinci, that guy is bad news indeed, hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
