What do you think the music should be like in Star Trek XI?

Let Giacchino do his work. His soundtrack was by far the most memorable of 2009 And it was great

At least as good as the score for TUC!! The score for Trek 09 was pretty good, actually.

It really is - in connection with the pictures it was written for. It is not quite as nice to listen to on its own.
Aften listening to the OST for X-Men: First Class this week (and loving it) I think I could live with replacing Giacchino with Jackman.

To my ear, it just sounded just like the show's version of the theme.

Same here.

Have your hearing checked then.

beamMe's remark may have been blunt, but it had the virtue of being more or less on topic. Your response, on the other hand, is not on topic, it's overly personal, it's trolling, and it will earn you a warning.

I'd be fine with Giacchino as long as the music used in the final cut wasn't as repetitive and poorly sound balanced as in STXI.

I'd much rather have Bear McCreary, Clint Mansell, or some other composer.

rewarding people for flame baiting on topic is wreckless.

I agree that the movies have generally had consistently good music, even if the score for Voyage Home sounded like Christmas music. Truthfully, though, I got a little sick of hearing the Goldsmith score. I love the music composed for Trek 09 and hope the same composer returns. James Horner's Wrath of Khan score is my favorite, though.

I think you mean XII. XI was years ago and it had a fantastic soundtrack.

I want an epic version of the "Amok Time" fight music in the next movie. That would be awesome.

Me too! When Giachino was asked about this possibility, he said he would consider it!
