What do you get at the consession stand at the movies?

If other people like something and I have never had it I feel compelled to eat it and see if I can discover what they like about it.

One million calories later I have no regrets.

How do you spread Nutella onto mayonnaise? Or spread mayonnaise onto Nutella? Or do you just mix them up in the jar and eat with a spoon?

Haven't been to a cinema in about 12 years since the eyes got fucked up.

When I used to go to theatres with concession stands, I'd get a DR. Pepper, or perhaps and ICEE, suicide if they'd do it.

Now the theatre where I go has a bar where the concession stand would be and you order sodas and food from your seat. So usually a diet coke, and whatever looks good on the menu like curried spinach, a cheese sandwich, a cheeseburger or pizza.

Nothing, those prices are serioulsy inflated. And yes I do know the reaons as to why but going to the cinema is expensive enough anyway.
That's generally me as well. I get something every now and then, but for the most part, just the movie tickets.

I get nothing.

I remember I used to frequent this movie theater in London that did NOT serve popcorn because it "makes too much noise".
Sacrilege.

I remember as a small child in Poland there was no food of any kind allowed in theatres. I mean, you tried to unwrap a small candy during the previews and you got shushed by half the theatre.

I get nothing at the theater; hubby might get a drink every now and then. I own some very large handbags and have smuggled in contraband candy of my own. Once, hubby bought doughnuts and I was actually able to get the entire bag in without squishing them. Of course, my bag smelled like doughnuts for a week...but that's not really a bad thing.

Which is how it should be !

Yes, but NUTELLA AND MAYONNAISE???? :alienblush:
:eek::eek::eek:
I love both Nutella and mayonnaise, but the thought of eating them together makes my stomach heave.

Anyway, we don't go to the first-run theater often, so it's a big deal when we go. If the kids are with me, we'll get a big tub of popcorn and two bottles of water to share. Maybe we'll get a box of candy each. We're more likely to go to the second-run theater that is just a few blocks from our house. There we'll get a large tub of popcorn to share and two lemonades. They give free refills during the movie. :p If I go alone, I'll usually get just a soda. I hate being thirsty.

That's awesome.

I don't buy any food from the cinema. It's horrible overpriced junk. Two hours without food won't kill me.

^Like you I'll often take in a bottle of Oasis and a bag of sweets that I bought elsewhere into the cinema. If they want me to buy at the cinema don't mark it up 2-3 times what it costs in the Supermarket.

I am another person who smuggles my own food into the cinema because of the over inflated prices at the concession stand.

The exemption is the local art house cinema because their food prices are quite reasonable. A friend of mine was caught with her own food at the art house cinema and was told off and I had no real sympathy for her.

Yeah, it does get quite annoying when people practically have a four course meal at the theatre, and each course is the loudest food you could imagine, it's like they are cracking lobster for one course and slurping ramen for the next.

It's preparing the flambé dishes that I find most intrusive...

Nothing. Unless it's Tuesday Then I can get a bag of popcorn and a Coke for $4. Except I'm always at work on Tuesday...

On the rare occasion that I actually go to the movies, I don't get any concessions.

I only go to the cinema once every few months. By the time I've paid for a ticket, a drink & snack and fuel to get to and from the cinema. I can almost buy the blu-ray of it when it comes out.

Since it's so rare that I go to the movies, I get popcorn and soda and sit back and enjoy. I've gone to the movies alone the last year or so and like having my treats to myself. Is that so wrong? :(

Nope, not at all. For myself, I prefer to go to movies with friends, buy a small soda and popcorn, and wait to get something good to eat afterward.

I ususally overpay for a large icee and a small bag of popcorn, the three or four times a year I go to the movies, there is this great Independant (non chain, not indie film) theater in Pensacola called The Silver Screen, it started as a halfway decent dollar theater but after the rebuild from Ivan the owner apparently cleaned up on the insurance front because they ended up getting movies first-run...and a liquor license. They had an icee machine that had margaritas on one side and a home blend on the other. That theater is the one thing I miss about that place.
