What do you do in your free time

ok, I took off of work sick this afternoon, so ive got absolutely nothing to do but sit here and feel like crap, so Im gonna start this thread;

When your not at work, or at school, what do you?
I would assume there is going to be alot of Trek related stuff.

for me however, in my free time, I enjoy working on and being around Monster Trucks, I have a couple of friends who work in the industry and am friends with a few drivers and whenever they're close I pitch in and lend a hand, Ive run the gambit from running the sound for the announcer to working on the trucks, last event I crewed I got the ear splitting job of feeding the motor cause the guy I was crewing for was having fuel pick up issues due to the relatively cold weather and a weak fuel pump(basically standing on the rear planetary next to a $20,000, 1,500HP motor with a squirt bottle full of gas squirting it down into the Blower to get the motor to fire off so it will build up enough back pressure and heat for the fuel pump to start pumping the Methanol-Alcohol that they run off of)

next month me and a friend of mine are going over to cajun country to help lend a hand to some guys who are working to restore one of the earliest Monster Trucks.

its fun, but its alot of work to, that same last event I crewed at, I got there @ 10 Am and sat down a grand total of maybe 20 minutes until I left the Arena grounds at 1AM

In my free time, of which I have a lot of because I am retired, I do the following (not in order of the time I devote to each)

1) post on the Trekbbs
2) play ZooWorld on Facebook
3) Check what friends and family are up to on Facebook
4) Go on photo shoots and muck around with my photos on Flickr
5) Read (especially Scandanavian crime fiction)
6) Try to get fit using my Wii
7) Play card/board games on the PC
8) Garden
9) Look at DVDs
10) Look at TV (I don't look at much TV)
11) Go to the cinema
12) Socialise with my friends
13) Research my family history

Not really much Trek related at all, even on the Trekbbs I rarely go into the Trek forums.

"Free time" is a relative term. I may not be at work or in class, but that doesn't mean I don't have school-related things to work on. Generally, when I have free time, I spend it watching DVDs, reading books, surfing the net, playing video games, etc. I strive to go to the gym 4-5 days a week. I like to spend time with friends when I can. I feel as though I don't socialize enough, so any opportunity to get out and enjoy good company is taken advantage of.

When I am not working, I post here, I write strictly for fun), I play video games, either on the Wii or PC, I do chores around the house, I read, I go shopping and I deal with all the mundane things that need to be done.

When I *am* working, I score English exams. You have no idea the amount of restraint it requires for me to not correct your post.

I'm in law school, and I work, so my free time is almost nonexistent at this point. Back when I had free time, I spent it on music, ballet, ballroom dance, and hanging out with friends.

Free time?
God,I remember free time...
A few years ago I would have said reading but TBH the internet is taking more and more of my reading time away and I'm not too pleased about that.It may be time for a late new years resolution.:confused:

Lately I watch movies, goof around on the internet, and enter Fark photoshop contents while avoiding working on my website and/or next writing project.

Oh and also I've been brushing up on my DVD/Blu-ray authoring skills. I recently put the top-100 Simpsons episodes from an online poll onto two BD-R discs. It's given me a reason to watch the show, again.

What is "Free Time"?

*hears a whisper from nearby*

Oh - that thing I used to have when I finished university and took a year out? Nah, don't get much of that these days. :p

In all seriousness... I've become hooked on Star Trek Online, and also go out with friends and colleagues a fair amount. But I'm usually tired when I get home from work so I tend to read a lot and get an early night. Speaking of - it's 11PM here and time I went to bed! :p Goodnight!

^^ Goodnight, Jim. Always good to see you.

My "free" time is spent reading, writing, cartooning, doing photography, some programming, watching DVDs or some other such pursuit involving the Arts & Sciences. Oh, and Posting on my Forums.

Trekbbs is the only trek thing I have in my life.

I'm always spending my free time with my fiancee.

^ Actually I think I'd stop at game 3, if you know what I mean. ;) (The quote in my sig comes from something Curt Schilling said during the 2001 World Series, though. And when you think about it, he's RIGHT...)

seriously though, as if it wasn't soul-searingly obvious  I love baseball and I collect games on DVD. I watch them all the time when I'm at home. That's what I like to do in my free time.

What is this free time you speak of? Whenever I'm home I'm job hunting or sleeping lol.

I do try to spend as much time with my SO as possible, and I do quite a bit of reading. I try to watch as much nerdy tv like jeopardy and star trek as possible.

Just depends on how much spare time I'm given really.

Chalk me up as another who doesn't know what this phrase "free time" means. ;)

I should be answering the last month's worth of emails that are in my Inbox, or at least organizing them. I can't seem to get it down below 60 emails before it gets flooded again. That's one of the drawbacks to being a department head for a major convention and chairing another one...

When not at work, studying, or playing on the computer, I'm usually doing housework, drinking, or with my gf.

I like your spitting on fish sentiment very ingenious I think i will start doing that in my free time.

hmm, free time...

i have a lot of it, i wont lie. granted, this "free time" you speak of is really time i should be doing something constructive, but i dont.

1. play videogames on the psp, wii, ps3, etc.
2. watch movies i know are terrible and cheesy, but love anyhow (think doom and chronicles of riddick like)
3. peruse the internet for entertaining items
4. catch up on facebook
5. bake
6. update my netflix queue

im sure there are many more ways i waste time, but that's just a few.
