What do you do in your free time

Data Lover, you are a man/woman after my own heart... :D

A try to get in some exercise daily, usually an average of 5 miles walking... window shopping along the way makes it more palatable, along with picking up something interesting for dinner on the way home.

I spend a lot of my weekends with my 9 year old brother and 6 year old sister. I take them to museums or the cinema at times, but mostly, they're always asking to go book-shopping... and since the only thing I have put all of my attention into is giving them a love of books, I am always delighted to give them total freedom when it comes to book stores - I may need to take out a loan soon. :p They have already surpassed me in general knowledge and I feel quite stupid when I'm with them. I am so proud, I could burst. :D

Always trying to find new quick and easy to prepare meals, not as easy as it sounds when you are looking for gluten free and low fat.

Grooming - exfoliating, moisturising, doing my hair and such... helped me through the long, horrendous winter we've had, always guaranteed to lift my mood, much better than a light box. :p

DIY - still rearranging and replacing many things in the flat, even though we've lived there 2 years, trying to fit 2 peoples possessions into a studio flat is an ongoing, challenging process. It's a bit like a giant jigsaw puzzle, making furniture and various things fit into nooks and crannies, and making it all efficient and usable without looking too cluttered.

Smoking shiisha - I have given up alcohol, and my fascination with making cocktails, but have taken on a new not so healthy habit... I have all the paraphernalia and various loose teas to go with it. Come to think of it, I spend a few days each month looking for new teas to try.

Catching up with Lost and Prison Break.

Film - I love a lot of those beautifully photographed period dramas, last one I saw was Tea with Mussolini, which turned out to be even better than I had been expecting. Next one on the menu - Cinema Paradiso, maybe tonight.

Eating out, love Yo Sushi and middle-eastern cuisine.

I love thrift stores, I have developed a fetish for vintage bags, and matching them with my shoes and belt. I am always trying to nab myself a bargain, but rarely succeed, because they always cost a fortune.

I have been into metaphysics for a while now, and am always googling something to do with that or looking for books on the subject. Or boring various people with my "wisdoms"... :p

I have 3 kids, a wife and a mortgage. That adds up to negative free time. In fact, I have a half-finished model kit (and several more that haven't been started) that is older than two of my kids!

What little I have is spit between my wife and daughter and my volunteer duties at my local fire department. If its not responding to calls, I'm training younger members or taking part in training myself.

Two kids, a busband who sometimes counts for two more kids, a job, a house, a dog, a cat, the BBS. What is this "free time" you speak of?

At the risk of being partially redundant, these are my favorite free time activities:
- Playing console video games (PS2 or Wii mostly)
- Watching television (mostly via DVR or DVDs)
- Watching video game recordings on YouTube (sounds pretty lame, but it's a good source of nostalgia for old, lost games, and watching amazing skills as some guy finishes that game that took months to get through in 20 minutes)
- Helping my wife run her business
- Playing with my dogs
- Reading (fantasy or Star Trek with the occasional Stephen King tossed in)

At home:
- Catching up with the posts here and on a couple of clothes-related forums.
- Checking stock prices, my portfolio and reading up on financial/economic news.
- Watching TV/DVDs.

Outside:
- Shopping, esp. for clothes, even if just window-shopping.
- Eating out (I love good food & good wine, and it gives me an excuse to shoot the breeze with friends and not worry about the indulgence).
- Going for a walk somewhere pretty (roll on Spring & Summer!)

Hmm, a baby and a 4 yr old-not much time there. In place of sleep I play MW2, write fanfics or watch an episode of tv from my DVR. That summarizes all of my free time-time usually found after 9pm.

I try to do some kind of daily exercise: walking, skiing, snowshoeing, biking, pilates, elliptical, weights, rollerblading, hiking, etc. (Not all in the same day!)

Other than that I like to cook, go out with friends, shop or read.

I play the piano and the trombone, listen to music, read, hang out with friends doing a whole lot of nothing, play a couple dungeons in World of Warcraft, lurk the TrekBBS, or re-watch my Lost DVDs for the Nth time.

When I have it, it's usually spent reading comics or playing video games, but when the weather is cooperative I usually take a walk on one of the local trails.
