Er, Paramount is doing this movie, CBS is controlling the TV shows, if my understanding is correct. So CBS isn't really involved too much.

No... I really don't get this expection that Paramount and JJ Abrams should be spilling the beans about the film before they're good and ready. Which by the way *isn't before they even announce a cast*. Something that is likely to change within the coming week...


If anything all the talking and rumors and arguments has only served to heighten the buzz for this movie. It would be dumb, real dumb for them to ruin that.

Star Trek films have to one degree or another always been hush hush it hasn't always worked out like that - Rick Berman seemed to like to blab which didn't really help his enterprise any...

CBS also controls the merchendiseing side of Star Trek.

Makes you wonder what they've been shown as far as designs for everything goes, and who they're gonna get to make models, toys, action figures, and so forth.
