What did people think about "Bates Motel?"

Just finished the series today and frankly it was awesome. Sick and twisted and I think Norman and his mom is maybe one of the best romance stories ever because it's a romance that isn't a romance. It's this whole other twisted thing. I love Vera Farmiga and frankly if I could create a tv show especially a Star Trek show she is who I would want as the star. The new Norman Bates was also great and the whole cast. I also like how the twisted the faith so it didn't match up completely with the movie and you know I think I like it better than the movie and the movie is Classic film.

Was an avid fan back when it was being broadcast. Excellent cast, direction, cinematography and writing. Highly recommend it to anyone whom hasn't seen it.

I watched about half of the first season and really enjoyed it, but I ended up losing track of it and never got around to finishing it.

I would recommend going and watching it on Netflix which is where I watched it because I never watched it while it was still a active show. I think it's about to leave Netflix soon though and I am not sure where it will land or will land somewhere. I am still waiting for someone to pick up Person of Interest so I can see the final season.

I liked to whole series, but I thought it got really good when they kind of phased out the Scooby Doo mysteries vibe from the first couple of seasons and focused more on Norman's Psycho-ses :D

At first I didn't know if I liked the idea of Norman having a half brother, but I thought Dylan was a great addition and Vera Farmiga was awesome in it.

I watched the first two episodes and gave up (then read wikipedia summaries). Highmore was OK, kind of good, Farmiga kind of OK, but it just seemed like a bad idea (remaking/prequel-ing Psycho but in the present, it just probably shouldn't be done), the actors and writing not justifying it. Not fond of the half-brother being and staying there or a lot of the town being corrupt with (sex trafficking) conspiracies, too over-the-top too soon and from the summaries it escalated a lot more (and OTOH with Norma being more reasonable and sympathetic).

I've noticed that with almost all modern TV I dislike the use of songs, they're either way too obvious and similar to the scene, to where it's redundant, or have nothing to do with the scene.
