i don't know where jonathanland is. maybe it's a state of mind, but my name is jonathan.

So's mine... so if Jonathanland is a state of mind, I may have made the wrong choice...

ya left out a lot of countries there....

i'm in the us
I only included the countries that matter
What an idiotic thing to say. :wtf:

I live in Other.

It's amazing how many countries seem to be called Other these days... :vulcan:

Polls should get new disclaimers

Be advised that this is a moronic poll

:rommie:

I voted "Other", since I live just down the street from admiralxgmx, on "Brainwashed Lane", Ignorantia, in the great Nation of La-La-Land.

As a resident of La-La-Land, I almost take offense to the insinuation that the OP lives here too. :(

Another Jonathan here as well. I'm just glad this "Jonathanland" isn't spelt, "Jonathonland"/"Johnathanland"/"Johnathonland" otherwise I would have to destroy it.

Have to agree that the poll is stupid, he left out so many countries yet had Jonathanland and Newfoundland on there...might as well as put 'Bottom of the Ocean", "centre of the Earth" and "Inside a volcano" in there as well.

We reach. Yay, brother. :D

(Maybe we should start a 'Is your name Jonathan?' poll? :D )

I don't know the name of the country I'm currently in, but there is a lot of green hills with flowers, the sun is making sounds like a baby, and some colourful monsters with televisions in their stomachs just ran past me. :wtf:

Peru?

Canada seems to be "winning" this poll, if you count it on a per capita basis. By which I mean, Canada has only about 1/10th of the US's population, yet 8 people voting in this poll are in Canada, while 30 are in the US. What gives? Why is this board such a draw in Canada? (Or maybe Canadians are just more eager to vote in polls like this?)

<Note that this post is mostly tongue-in-cheek. I'm well aware of the concept of small number statistics.>

UK.

Where exactly is this other that everyone seems to live in? My geography classes were clearly missing something! :)

It really is kind of an odd selection of countries, Admiral...you say you tried to choose "the main ones," but you left out a lot of "main ones." Germany alone, for example, has a much larger population than New Zealand and Australia combined. Were you trying to focus on English-speaking countries?

Sorry - don't mean to nitpick because these things aren't easy to write, but I expect that's the reason for all those Otherans Praetor mentions. ;)

I'm in the U.S., by the way, so I don't have a particular ax to grind here.

Yes, but I expect that the representation on this board tracks as much with language and culture as it does with population. Japan is a wealthy country with a population of well over 100 million, where presumably internet access is fairly widely available. Yet I'd bet good money that this board has more Canadians than Japanese, despite Canada's much smaller population.

Still, there might be enough Germans here that it should have been included. I'd be curious to see a poll in which every country represented on Trekbbs is included as an option. Of course, you can't figure out which countries those are until you actually do the poll.

Brilliant. ;)
