what could explain this? (things changing shape)

I left a bunch of beer cans in my friend's fridge a while ago. He just let me that one of them turned into a square. He says he didn't touch them, and I'm sure if he did, that's not what he would have done. What might this mean?

What? He didn't squeeze it or so?

I'd need to see a picture of what that's supposed to look like, unless your friend's really high.

It's what happens to beer if you foolishly dont drink it soon enough. Beer is meant to be drunk, not stored in firdges.

Alternatively, switch to proper beer which somes in bottles.

In fact, perhaps the best post I've ever seen in over 5 years.

To be honest, I expected him to drink it. A friend of mine told me this could mean bacterial infection or something, which can change the shape of cans.

But it hasn't been that long--maybe two weeks? Surely refridgerated beer can last two weeks.

Also, cans are the most convenient way to buy small quantites of beer (which is what I was after that particular day); most of the liquor stores around here are pretty unimpressive.

Bullshit. A friend of mine collects beer cans from around the world; obviously he doesn't drink it, but some of the beers he has are decades old and they still have exactly the cylindric shape they used to have.

Something about that story just doesn't make sense, no offense.

Well, I am going by a three-line Facebook message, but I don't really think the details are complicated enough that there could be any error.
