A Staffy can be intimidating looking, but too small and too friendly to suit the angel of death IMO. Death needs something a bit more ominous and imposing.

My image of Death comes from Terry Pratchett's Discworld and I can imagine that version of Death as having a staffy (after all he has a horse named Binky).

Wow, cool that we same to the same conclusion on #s 3 and 4.

I picked the Shih Tzu for Vader because my neighbor's Shih Tzus are more vicious and nasty than any large guard dog. They've tried to attack my dog before (who is an easy going lab mix), and have also actually bitten people.

The only other dogs I've seen nastier than Shih Tzus are the Yorkshires, which I chose for the Reaper.

Sometimes size of a dog has no bearing on how foul tempered they are.
